Friends !

Maybe this was already discussed elsewhere, but i didn't find anything, so here's my question: Whatever happened to the Studio ProFiles series from Sonic Reality. Believe me, i need these drum loops more than anything else and it would be tough for me, if i found out that the packs can't be released for some reason !

Also, i noted that Steve Gadd is not mentiond anymore on the dedicated Studio ProFiles page. What happned ? Did you have a fall out with the guy ?

Would be good to know ... I love your Studio ProFiles sampler, that i purchased a while ago, but there's just not enough on there to statisfy my appetite. :-)

Haha. No falling out with Steve Gadd. In fact, a lot of his loops are available right now on www.esoundz.com in the downloadable sound packs area. Check out the Mini ProFiles.

Steve Gadd's title is part of the Stereo Master Series which also has Bill Bruford and Bun E. Carlos (from Cheap Trick).

We have 5 artist titles and 5 style titles coming out in Multitrack format though and that's something we're announcing at NAMM. They will be released 1-2 at a time every month starting next month... FINALLY eh? Well, it has been a lot of work I have to say because for the first time ever these loops are offered in multitrack Rex 2, Apple Loops and Acidized Waves. All three format's slices even match up if you want to work with different formats but not lose the timing and feel. On top of that you have the individual wave hits and Kontakt NKI maps (we might add EXS and HALion, perhaps even NNXT at some point as a free update or maybe in the product).

Thanx for your answer, Squids ! my question regarding Steve Gadd loops is: are those mini soundpacks different from those that i purchased with the Studio Profiles Edition a while ago. I wouldn't want to purchase them 2 times, as you can imagine. And another question: will there be a bigger Steve Gadd release that implements all of those Mini Packs onto one general CD/DVD ?

Any release date that you can give us ? 2nd half of 2007 ?

We may go into the studio with Steve Gadd to do multitrack stuff. The material we're using is the complete groove set from Qup Arts' original "Steve Gadd Drum Scores" but done in Rex, Apple Loops and Acidized Wave all in one which hadn't been done before. If this title does well as the stereo version I think we'll have a good reason to get Steve to go back to the studio for more and as multi-track. In fact, if we do that I will give you guys a head's up and let you make requests of certain songs/grooves (don't worry I WILL ask him to play Aja ;) ).

By the way, this is what we did with Ed Greene. Ed had a sample library called "Greene Machine" and it was one of those esoteric finds, not really promoted by Big Fish when they had it (probably because it was just a sampling CD and not also a CD ROM). We took that material over and it is in his stereo title. But, since we LOVE Ed Greene and he lives in Nashville where SP co-producer Mark Hornsby lives I got hold of Ed and Mark recorded him in Nashville doing new material in Multitrack (we tried to get his old material in multitrack which was done with some Steely Dan people but we just couldn't find the masters). Anyway, we recorded a bunch of SD grooves and funk/disco stuff he is known for. So his multitrack title is really awesome and totally new.

Anyway, everything I mentioned will be released within the next 6 months but a few titles released next month to get started.
