I don't actually use a lot of pedals, but I know many do...my favs are MXR Distortion +, Boss CE3 Super Chorus, Sansamp GT2 and the Boss DF2 Distortion Feedbacker.
I have all but the DF2 now...I love the MXR for overdrive...the Boss Chorus is nice for signal splitting and of course the Sansamp is good for a lot of things.
Now how about some real pedal enthusiasts, what's your favs and what do you like about them?

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Well i am a big Overdrive fan, i use mainly boss pedals, basically becasue they are so easy to mod, in fact all of my Boss pedals are modded..
Some of the OD's
-Boss Super Overdrive modded to TS-808 specs( the boss SD-1 is actually a great overdrive with literally the same pc board as the Orginal Ibanez TS-9..When modded it has INCREDIBLE string seperation and violin-like sustain..
- Boss Blues Driver,, A very transparent Clean boost, and also a Thick distortion when cranked,
- I use a Boss GE-7 in the FX loop, (very subtle thogh, I could go without it
- Boss Pitch Shifter/Delay.PS-3 I know they dont make this bad boy anymore. I love it, tons of FX jammed into a little pedal.
- Digitech Digiverb, Adds a little bit to much noise IMO, otherwise a decent reverb
-MXR phase 90, ITs cool for something, maybe, I have used it about 10 times..
NOt quite pedals but
-MOrley Bad Horsie WAh, The best wah?? I think so
=Charlie Stringer MOLDSPORE Psycho Scumatic WAH- Actually the Wah part sucks, but it is also a sweepable RING MODULATOR with the flick of a switch.. AWESOME RIng MOD, worth the money just for the ring mod!!!

Just in case others are interested,, I get my mods from this guy www.monteallums.com He seems to be the best when it comes to DIY mods and instructions. He also has plenty of MP3's of his mods, which sadly MANY of the others don't

I binned all my pedals years ago. I am all rack stuff now.
Jackson JX-3 tube preamp (love that thing). Has a very distinctive sound and was a necessary piece since my amp is an old Music Man HD150 with valve output and solid state pre. No grind at all naturally. This thing makes up for it.
Rane 5 band parametric EQ. With this I don't need amp modeling pedals. I can do the same thing with a little work on this.
An old Roland SDE-1000 digital delay ... vintage but still doesn't sound like anything else. Had 2 but it made a great trading piece.
I do have one pedal a friend gave me I have yet to use. A new Boss stereo chorus. He gave it to me to use in lieu of a preamp with my old Crown Microtech 600 poweramp I used to use for my bass head. Never managed to get a real preamp, but an old friend gae me an older GK Bass 400 head so the whole setup went bye bye.
I do miss 2 of my old pedals that are long gone. First generation Rat distortion (got stolen along with my other Music Man head and a guitar I built.)
And an old Ross Stereo Analogue delay. Made some twisted sounds with that one.
Not a huge fan of heavily processing guitars. Just a nasty grind and occasional flanging or chorus. Too many people overprocess and mask their playing ability or lack thereof.
Used to have an old Soldan modded Yamaha head that was a real mother ... Miss that one alot. And I am STILL pissed at myself for selling the Yamaha 4x12 cabinet I used with it. My BFI is close but ... not close enough.
Living in L.A. and hearing so many clone tone setups, I cling to my old gear and tone like it were the last beer at 4am at the keg party.

Only the two actual fx boxes, Proco RAT2 and a Hughes and Ketner Warp Factor, the latter being a fantastic distortion

For blues, the only pedal I use any more is my Digitech Bad Monkey.
This tone this thing puts out is unbelievable. And at $40 it's the best pedal deal out there. I can't recommend it highly enough.
When I want to get raucous, I'm fortunate enough to have an old Big Muff Pi to plug in to. But usually just end up running through a Johnson J-Station, actually.

I had a lot of chorus pedals until I find the right one--MXR's stereo chorus.
Fulltone Fulldrive 2-- a lot of variability.
For fuzz and distortion with bottom end, Diamond's Fireburst.
Peterson Strobostomp
Carl Martin Compressor/Limiter--like a studio compressor in a pedal. Nothing better than that one
Diamond Memory Lane--True Bypass, Analog, with a tap tempo function. Great for slapback. To get really funky the EH Memory Man Deluxe
I have the Digiverb. I have yet to find a reverb pedal that I like. For now, I'm using a Kurzweil KSP8 for reverb. I'm intrigued by the new TRex reverb pedal. Anybody try it?

+1 for the Bad Monkey- it's an incredible sounding pedal. Come payday I'm building a Slow Century kit from OLC*, as the Bad Monkey doesn't distort and I want distortion going into my Ampmaker Se5A as well.

I used to be a rack guy myself (still have an Art Multiverb Alpha 2.0 SE if anyone wants to trade for a petal or two). Now I have switched to petals...here is a list of what I have right now:
Misc:
Self made Maestro Brass Master clone
Self made simple distortion
Dunlop Crybaby moded to be a vol petal
DOD Super American Metal
DOD Bass Grunge
Digitech Bass distortion/overdrive
Aarion Bass Distortion
Crybaby Q Zone
EH Smallstone (old russian reisue)
Trace Elliot SMX dual bass compressor
Then the Boss list:
AW-3 Dynamic Wah
BF-2 Flanger
CEB-3 Bass Chorus
DD-3 Digital Delay
DS-1 Distortion
DS-1 Distortion (moded for vintage tones)
FZ-2 HYPER Fuzz
HF-2 HiBand Flanger
LMB-3 Bass Limiter Enhancer
MT-2 Metal Zone
OC-3 Super Octave
ODB-3 Bass OverDrive
PH-2 SUPER Phaser
PN-2 Tremolo/Pan
SD-1 SUPER OverDrive
SYB-5 Bass Synthesizer
My favorites are probably the bass chorus and the hyper fuzz. Although I use the super overdrive alot as well. The high band flanger is nice too if you need flanging but I dont use it that much anymore.

Another SansAmp GT2 fan here.
Here's what's sitting in (or around) my pedalboard:
- SansAmp GT2
- SansAmp BassDriver DI
- Hughes & Kettner Rotosphere II tube leslie simulator
- Digitech Whammy Pedal
- Rocktron Big Crush compressor
- Crybaby wah pedal
- Morley volume peal (2x)
- Ancient MXR Phase 100
- Ancient MXR Flanger
- DOD Bass Chorus
Not pedals per se, but other associated gear includes an eBow, PreSonus MikePRE (great for guitar, bass and Stick), a Lexicon MPX1 (now part of my live rig and honestly rarely used) a Peterson VS-II strobe tuner, and a Frontier Tranzport (which I love using when recording guitar tracks).

I looked in my closet and there's a RAT and a DOD Sustain 515a and an Ibanez chorus. I've only ever used the RAT, but it's so long ago I'll have to try it again. Maybe I'll give the DOD a spin. Anyone have experience with it?
