Hallo Blue Cat !
I try to explain. Years before computers are come to studio all worked with 31 Band Hardware analyzers in the Studios like Klark Technik. When I see Pink noise on this analyzers,
it see a straight horizontal line on my Hardware analizer.When I look on your Analizer there's no straight line, so it looks strange for my eye.
I don't know why, maybe a logorithmical view in the hardware analyzer or another reference ?
When I look at my Hardware Analizer when music play, I know how the freq curve should be, because I know this freq curve since many years.

In the Harbal Prg which is great for Mastering I see pink noise ( A straight line ) and music also in this way I know from Hardware Analizers.

In voxengos Span /Slope setting/ 3 I see the frequence curve in a more familiar way.

Sorry but I have no better explanation.

Yes, you're correct. White noise is constant energy/Hz, so the amplitude at each frequency is the same and shows a flat line amplitude vs. frequency plot. Pink noise is constant energy/octave, so the amplitude at frequency X is 2x the amplitude at frequency 2X, and the amplitude vs. frequency curve declines at the familiar 3db/octave. Pink noise "sounds" more random than does white noise, and is sometimes deemed more musically useful - but it is also sometimes mistakenly labeled as "white noise", resulting in some confusion.

EDIT: That looks much more confusing than it did when I posted it. I SHOULD have written "Pink noise is constant energy/octave, so the amplitude at frequency X is twice the amplitude at frequency 2X..."

Thanks for your remarks. The Pro version will surely contain a slope correction feature so that you can adjust the view to your habits.

I was wrong; a straight line can come from pink noise too. The explain it, for anyone interested:

I would love it if the pro version could have the facility to save "snapshots" (a bit like being able to save the "freeze" information into slots which can be recalled).

Would that be something on the list for the pro version?

That's something which has been asked on the Cakewalk forum. I don't know if it will be scheduled for the very first release, but for sure it's a very interesting feature that will be implemented as soon as possible.

the Pro version of the FreqAnalyst product is on its way...! Find below some screenshots of the mono version in its current development state.

What's new compared to the free version:
Metering:
- Spectrogram view (with zoomable display and freeze functionality)
- coordinates are visible for very precise measurements on all views
- save snapshots into memory slots for response curves/tracks comparisons (can be exported in the presets as well, for comparisons between projects)
- new "average" mode
- slope adjustement
