"Pro Samples" are samples made by pro's? By people who make money by selling samples?

Bah - everybody knows you can't be a pro or make any good music unless you have at *least* 200gigs of samples.

Maybe you could duplicate your 60gig sample folders a couple of times...

Well just for shits and giggles, look at my member number and date joined and try and imagine how many gig I have collected hanging around here for 7 years+

let alone what I've made myself. (which is more than your 60 gig) ... double wink

But thats cool, got a new dual core 4600 today with Big hard drives to abuse them on

But honestly... It's not how much you have ...It's how you use them that is important.

seriously tho- bp's got a great point: it's very easy to get choice paralysis and simply get too bogged down in making decisions about what to use that you stop making music...and that ain't groovy

good exercise: try to use the least amount of samples possible
Make a whole song from tweaking some white noise-
etc. etc....
even if ya don't come up with a good song, you'll surely come up with sounds no one has heard in another song before...uncharted territory is always more interesting than the same ole...

that said... i've got an obscene GB amount of samples, but most of'em ain't "pro"

hi googleplex, after reading your post I went straight to check the library folder I'm using to produce the album I'm working on: it's about 16 gigs big (and I'm feeling there's a lot of stuff that won't ever make it on the record).

Seems I need to catch up, or I'm gonna lose some customers here..

edit: seriously, don't get infected by the "collector's syndrome"

If you'd install Scarbee Imperial Drums, you get a boost of 49Gb already... I have 1 terabyte of external disks connected to my pc (although one of them is only mp3's
