@IvoryTickler: Yes, the bell-like character Pianoteq shows sometimes is suboptimal. But it remembered me more of my "real" piano than Truepianos in my try. (Part of the "problem" is perhaps that "we" - as sampler/VSTi users - are used to the ultra-clean sound most samplers offer as piano sound; a quality almost no acoustic piano in its surrounding shows.)

Ok, I'll give it a try again with other velocity curve settings - although I've participated in the Pianoteq group buy in the meanwhile
(Indeed Truepianos froze Cubase 4 when I tried it first.)
