I d/led the Mabento plug a long time ago when I first got into music and plug-ins and stuff, got confused about what I was meant to do with it (we're talking complete synth and effect novice...) and promptly ignored it.

I stumbled across it the other day (cleaning up my vst folder) and had a play with it. I made some bizarre noises but I can't see much use for it.

So my questions are do you use mabento, and how do you use it?

I use it quite a lot (without the feedback) between two reverb effects to get a pulsing, wash of reverbs.

Its great for getting 'ringing', mangled beat effects too.

Even if I don't use it on everything I do, I've usually loaded it up and had a play with it on most tracks. Great little plug.

Tip: Try it on drum loops. It can really turn a plain beat into weird electronic stuff.

The plugin is named after one of the most interesting and original IDM/electronica group coming from Romania. The have released a lot of really good free material on various net-labels.

Check their homepage for info http://makunouchibento.inpuj.net/
