Awesome! gsoto keep it up, great work.

Kingston! How about some lens flares as well, and maybe something like comic sans to make it even more aesthetic

first thing you should ask yourself when deciding to download a synth is: does it have woodgrain?

Sorry man, I wasn't trying to be funny, just making fun of your lack of taste.

i dont think its so much the wood effect he was trying to demonstrate. the panels in kingston's design appear "raised".

but if they are to be opened/closed/moved i guess this would be harder to generate against a background. if they are static, then the bitmap could just be made to include this raised effect

Post

the shadow/shading business is no problem. this stuff doesnt make for useful discussion though. this is all trivial.

Post

what i meant is could you use this bitmap as a background, or will your panels be moveable?

I bet Xhip would sound even more analogue with that GUI :D. Maybe it's got something to do with wood resonating in a more pleasent way? :hihi:

I know. and you're alone in that, it seems. You can keep your windows 3.1 and dos shell graphics for all I care. I guess you are one of those people who insist on using all effects in the host GUI mode.

Nothing worse than a metal bog seat on a cold winters morning. Wood, on the other hand, if you can get past the piss stains, can be positively comfortable for the posterior end.

So there you have it, wood gives a warmer bottom end than metal.

Cheap bump maps are so Windows 98 in my opinion, and gsotos clean style looks very fresh compared to the competition. Shadows and textures would just ruin it, this is not a video game after all. The design itself makes a lot of sense, with colour coding and clear controls.

No, not all effects - only those with poorly designed, ugly and oversized GUIs ;-)

The Wood grain design doesnt really do it for me.

Prefer the latest design, its pretty huge though!

I could take one if you pay me 20 bucks.
