btw--> Thanks for supporting us. 2006 was a good year for Redshift!

Sometimes it's its worthwile to bump a topic into the year 2007.
Thanks for the information! :)

Hello
I have bought Drumular 2 days ago, and still have got no serial number...
is it normal ?

What? 2.0? Am I late at the party? :-o

*edit*: :dog: '2 days ago' not 'Drumular 2'. I'm a plug slut, sorry, hehe. :clown:

It would be nice if this new version had configurable outputs, specifically a few mono outputs. It's particulary usable for kicks and snares, but if you asked me, I'd always rather use 8 mono outputs instead of 8 stereo outputs as it's easier to mix and the mix sounds "beefier" and more coherent.

I don't know about other hosts but at least eXT let's me link/unlink outputs, which is useful in these cases.

Post

I use that in EXT, but I believe mono outputs could spare us some more CPU even though Drumular doesn't use much. I'm not sure if by connecting just left or right output Drumular uses less CPU. Also, I use Reaper and it's fairly complex to turn stereo to mono outputs in it, not impossible, but cumbersome.

I also noticed, the sound, not always but sometimes, from such split mono output is not as stable as "true" mono output-you can get phasing.

OTOH, splitting stereo outputs gets you 8 mono outputs and by panning drums left/right you get 8 mono outs, yay!

My thinking is that it shouldn't be so hard to implement true mono outs, because it's kinda already there and 8 outs is really enough.

Any chance of re-posting those kits? I missed the link (dead now). Cheers!

Ah ok you're an eXT user as well. I'm not against a native solution, I just gave an idea for workaround.

That's good (or bad) to know, I need to test it out.

@ redroyq: i assume you're the developer ...
ok, i've tried the demo ... nice little gem, i must say (how could i miss this?? :) ), though there's some serious issues, that makes me feature requesting even before i actually bought it (please, i'm trying to be constructive here, this is not meant in any offense at all):

1. no +/- buttons to load a sample in the samplemodules, i.e. i have all my bassdrums in folders, each in their category, say f.e., drumsample library > bassdrums > electronic bassdrums.
i'd like to be able to select the first bassdrum in the electronic bassdrums folder, then quick select the others via + (next) or - (previous) in that folder on the fly ... i hate this "load sample > browser > give path > load sample" stuff ... this is most essentially to me, and i think also to a lot of others ...

2. the filter env's don't have the max range on the cutoff, therefore, if a sample needs to have very low cutoff, but at the same time needs to be filter-enveloped from max cutoff frequency with a certain env-decay to the lowest cutoff point detemined by the cutoff slider, you're pretty much bugged ...
the filtercutoff also isn't high enough on max setting anyway, the resonance is beeing heard way too low in the frequency range on max setting of the cutoff ...
now, i know of the resonance beeing faded out on high cutoff settings in some algo's, but even your filter isn't even doing this, it's not a solution (isolated), ideally the cutoffrange should be greatly enhanced, say, 12khz (before roll off), plus beeing faded out consequently, say from 9,5 khz on, to zero, when 12khz is reached ... something like this, you know what i mean ... ;)

3. some modules require more indepth editing parameters ...
- f.e. the snare module:
it strongly screams for a second copy of the thump module, to create real punchy snares (i know i can layer, but why that workaround?) ...
- or the clap module:
i strongly miss a level-mixparameter for the initial trigger and the noise ... i know it's only done with noise and one dedicated env, where one can adjust the count of "saw's", but one needs to be able to adjust the amplitude of these saws in relation to the noise in release ...

4. all modules should have an adjustable count of voices that can be maximally played. sometimes i'd like a snare to have 2 or three voices, to overlap a bit, but to be cut off, when the sound gets too phasy, when playing repetitive notes very fast (i.e. a snare roll). monophonic is cutting too abrupt sometimes, fully polyphonic is too much ...

5. etom:
sweepdecay and ampdecay (on the noise, too) are way too small ranged imo ...
the filter on the noise misses an envelope badly ...

6. the sp module should have a oneshot button, making availlable that the sample plays from the beginning to the very end, amp env should work nevertheless (great for gating sounds, not being cut off abruptly by the manual set sample ending, that you'd therefore adjust way before the actual sample-ending)

what do you say? is there a chance in near future?
i don't want to be in need to always support the big dev's ...
well, i thought i'd let you know, maybe i'm reaching open minded ears ...
thanks for reading! :)

Excellent points Brok. Especially 1, 6, 4, 3, 2 and 5. Rest is all BS :D. Kidding of course.

Just hoping they don't forget the 4stereo/8mono or 2stereo/4mono configurable outputs.

This +/- thing on samples reminds me of the excellent RMIV :D. Marvelous feature. I, too, have samples in different folders and pressing +/- makes it so easy to find the right sample.

May I add one more very important thing also found on RMIV but not in Drumular? Editable zero crossing or just generally editable or even modulationable sample start. It could save some time with badly trimmed samples, and sometimes a bad, not zero crossing, sample start can sound very very good. btw. sample zooming wouldn't hurt either, but it's not necessary as long as we have ears.

dux, that's allready in there ... you can freely adjust (and modulate with velocity) the start (and end) of any sample you've loaded ... that is, not in oneshot module though ... sampe zooming is in ther, too ... just click and drag in the waveform display ...

Cheesus, of course it's here, I'm talking through my arse :D. Didn't use it for some time + I'm tired and quite distracted by the project I'm working on and I'm using RMIV most of the time because of those mono outputs I mentioned... but Drumular certainly has its magic, too.

Cheers!
