Is there a program readily available that will convert the bitrate of a sample in batches, so I can set it to do a whole folder in a go? Preferably free if possible. Don't want to sit hear doing loads by hand to use them...

Audacity has a batch function for these tasks since v1.3 (in beta ...)

Cool, thankies
Guess that's just one directory though? Or will it do layers/depth of folders?

Hmmm just noticed that the problem may not be that they're 24 bit. They're multichannel. Any easy way to quickly covert a lot of 11 channel wavs into 2 channel?

you probably wouldn't want to just convert them to straight stereo. That could lead to a jumbled mess of a file.
Well in this case, a giant batch of jumbled messy files.
