Hi, we are about to begin creating a sample library of unusual musical instruments. We are buying extreme sample converter, but I came across Chickensys Constructor. Now I wonder if that is the best tool for creating multi-format (giga, exs 24, halion, kontakt) sample libraries?
Any suggestions or personal experience would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Joel

while I've had no experience with Chickensys Constructor, I can tell you that ESC is a really good product; fairly intuitive and if ever you need support, Wlod is very quick to respond and help you out!

Extreme Sample Convertor is a convertor only. It won't allow you to build patches from scratch. His new sampler will, but that is not out yet.
Having said that, EXSC is an awesome product that you should have anyway.
Chickensys Constructor is fairly new also so there wont be too many people that have tried it yet.
However, you might want to seach the forums though, as this product is made by the same guy that makes Chicken Systems Translator. (Hi Garth!)
Here you will find many happy threads, from many satisfied users.
Just to help you appreciate the calibre of his work, here are 2 threads about Chicken Systems Translator.
One is for, one is against... Just so you can get some balance.
Chicken Systems Translator SUCKS!!!

I tried alot of the automated sample utilities... In the end, I map my samples up in .sfz format using notepad
If you use good template files its actually alot quicker than it sounds. And you can be sure its done right.
Then I use EXSC to convert to my target format.

Well, you might be PC - but there is KeyMap (redmatica.com) - which seems simply to be the best. EXS can be imported by most softsamplers.
ChickenSys is a class on its own - I need to use ChickenSys-Engine which comes with Kontakt and Independence - not too much luck with that.... But that is on Mac - maybe PC is different.
best
