Hi there,
there is one question that comes to my mind everytime I hear one of their songs:
The german dance band "Dune" has some cool synthsounds. Can anyone tell me what kind of synths they are made with (VA, Wavetable,...). And is there a free VST which is able to come close to these sounds?
Listen here: http://www.amazon.de/Expedicion-Dune/dp ... F8&s=music
Listen especially to "Rainbow to the stars".
Regards,
fladd
What kind of Synths are these? How to make these sounds?

Probably mainly romplers (like the roland jv series) and some "bass-line" synth for those 303-ish lines.

For all those "synth choirs" you probably just need something that can load samples to be used as waveforms. For the "bellish" stuff you might get away with an FM synth.
