Ok, as one of those weird folk that loves Bach I'm going to have to put on my critical hat for a moment (I'm sorry!). I don't mind remakes at all; they can be downright fun. There was an old Amiga mod version of this by Allister Brimble that was pure cheese which I loved, but it was also a surprisingly loving tribute at the same time that captured a lot of the spirit of the original.

The problem here is that there is really very little of his Toccata and Fugue in this version outside of the introduction so it's difficult for me to even call it a remix. It isn't just the intro that makes this a great piece, but what Bach does with it and the numerous other sequences, themes, motifs and harmonies of each that weave in and out. I would like to have heard more of those other themes represented here so that it actually felt more like a real remix.

Actually there is a tiny part of the fuga in this composition as well . Other than that you are completely right. It was careless of me to call this a remix.

fun. misses the melody/harmony but sounds like a pop song with Bach sampled.
What'd you use for the bass? I like the willingness to experiment. Nice sounds

Call it "loosely inspired by"....

In general this was big fun. It sounds good, and was fun to listen to.

You keep harping on that mordent on A. Since everyone knows what's coming next, you should at some point slip in that downward run. It really belongs there. After that you can do whatever you want. Take a listen to Walter Murphy's "Fifth of Beethoven". He gives you the couple of notes that everyone remembers, and then he launches into whatever he pleases.

Now you're leaving the listener slightly unsatisfied. Besides, that A is the dominant, so it should resolve at some point.
