I can't get the Kontakt2 standalone to recognize midi from my Keystation, no matter what I try. All the other software I own recognizes it fine, just not Kontakt. Additionally, the Kontakt2 VST even works with it. It shows up in the midi settings, but then when I press keys the Kontakt standalone doesn't recognize any midi activity from it. I bought Kontakt 2 a few weeks ago, and there has been a total span of about 1 hour where it worked with the Keystation.

Does anyone know what the problem might be? I've been going back and forth with their tech support, but all they do is ignore the details I give and state the obvious.

I've tried calling them, but was just put on hold eternally.

I tried the forums, but it won't let me log on for some reason.

ANY help at this point is greatly appreciated.

You're sure you have it set to recognize the correct channel and that you set up the the soundcard and midi source correctly? (In other words: Click on Options\OPEN audio and midi settings dialog, set up the correct ASIO driver, and then click on Midi and make sure your midi keyboard In1 was set to ON? (Mine, by default, was off, but the second midi in was set to ON.) Turn the second one off and be sure the first one is set to ON. (A double-click will turn it off again, not on.) Be sure the correct program for Audio out is turned on, and then click on OK. Should work fine. (Have you checked other midi programs that run outside of your sequencer to see if they work ok, so you can be sure that the problem is with Kontakt and not the keyboard setup? Have you checked the actual multisample to be sure you loaded up what you intended to load?)

Let us know the result.

You might have more than one midi interface, check in the audio midi settings on Kontakt 2, and disable all of them except the one you want. Give it 10 secs to sort itself out then try the keyboard.

Yes! That did it! I didn't know the other inputs all had to be turned off, so I always left all of them on. It's strange that tech support never mentioned that at all.

Thank you very much.
