Miroslav "sticky notes" bug?

Hi -- I've seen this pop up a few times when I'm playing Miro from a keyboard, and now I'm seeing it in a sequence. The notes sequenced are perfect and clean, but Miro is not interpreting the MIDI data correctly.. the attacks and releases are not occurring in the specified spots, causing certain notes to linger incorrectly, like they are sticking. It is only happening with one part in the 16 I have setup, and the sticking note is absolutely identical in every playback. This is not a CPU or RAM related issue, it's one part not interpreting MIDI data correctly, data that is definitely without error. Very strange. Sometimes when I'm playing back live through a keyboard, I get the same behaviour, but not often. But what is weird is that sequences recordings can catch it! This is not likely a problem in my Sonar 3 as it doesn't affect the other soft synths I use. Anyone seen this??

I've encountered similar problems where notes get stuck in Miroslav Philharmonik if you the alter the tempo of the song after recording. This is only a problem with Sonar though. The way to fix it was to install the VST-version of MIRO and use it instead of the DXi-version. You'll have to use the VST-adapter in Sonar to be able to use VST-instruments. Also, make sure you've got the latest Miro version installed. This problem may be fixed in this version, but I don't know. I'm a Cubase user now....

I did indeed notice the problem when changing the tempo in Sonar. Very interesting indeed. I am indeed using the DXi version, but it is the latest update 1.1. I shall try as you suggest. Weird.

also if you change the transposition octave of a patch from inside sampletank while it's playing back a sequence, i think the plugin is prone to hanging notes. this could be one source of your problem.

Yes, thanks for that little tip. I also emailed support about this and they have not heard of it, but after directing them to this thread, they are now aware of it and said they'd look into it, whatever that means!Shantar wrote:Yeah!ajjs wrote:haven't noticed that transposition issue, but i switched to VST from DXi in Sonar and the problem went away.

I emailed support about that a while ago, too.
Just use the VST version, not the DXi, and you won't have that problem.

Hey, Greg,
Nice to see you around!
Got any more mp3's to turn us to the light side with?
Could you maybe add any of your tips to the sticky that Kim (who is a guy, disappointing us all
) just added about anything regarding what the best way of layering a solo part on an ens part as you described for that piece you did?
You still toying with the idea of those workflow videos?

Sorry about OT.
(And I'm just joking Kim - don't be angry or upset, I figure I just saved you more PM's from guys wanting to hit on you.

The switching from DXi- to VST-version should be on some sort of "troubleshoting with Miroslav-sticky" This is the second time I suggested this solution to someone (remembered mention it to you too Gregjazz in an older thread). Don't know if this is a hardware vs software issue, or if it is merly a bug within the DXi-version. It is only a problem with the DXi-version, thats for sure...
Nevertheless, I still don't get it why these tempo issues appear... It should be an easy fix know that they know where and when it occurs...

For the record I have also noticed this bug twice when merely playing Miro live, not sequenced, and not having anything to do with a tempo change.

this is the famous "tempo-bug" which has been discussed to death on several forums.
it is not unique to the miro or sampletank by any means! kontakt/kompakt also experiences it. it IS a sonar problem, one which has apparently been fixed by cakewalk. how did they fix it? they dumped the buggy DXi with sonar 6 and are now finally fully VST integrated, though you can still load the old DXi you may have..but don't do that!
DXi is now offically dead.
i have taken the liberty to remove all the DXi from my PC (except where only a DXi version exists and i have kept the effect plugins). this way you won't accidently load the DXi version by mistake.
