Note that it is also a good habit to set sync to external (tempo+volume then the - button) and turn local off (capo+tuning then the - button).
Also if things don't sound right open the console (small button, bottom right) and see if you get funny messages.
I do have once in a while corrupted data, but turning the EZ-AG off and on again cures the problem.

I have the standalone ez suite going midi out to midiyoke1, then midiox has midiyoke1 incoming, midiyoke2 outgoing, my host reaper has midiyoke2 selected for midi input, so I assume it's only that. ???I do know that in reaper, if midiyoke2 is selected and the suite's not running, there's no midi input from the ez otherwise, well there's no sound.

You can't always assume that: if the MIDI port has multi-client drivers, then the same data can show up in two programs. So make sure your host has the EZ's physical port disabled!

I always turn the internal sounds off, I did the sync external just now, and opened the suite's console, it looks pretty normal, fret up downs, onplates, vel 127, vel 107. But I did get the stuck notes again.

1) Weird ... Does this happen with different instruments ?
2) Any special reason for using MIDI-OX ?

Post

The suite works perfectly now without any stuck notes. I was using midiox because I thought I had to, to use midiyoke. Now I just send it to midiyoke1.

M-Audio Fast Track pro, so far there's basically no latency. No suite problems anymore. Cheap soundcard and asio4all was pretty cheap.

I've gone to the Yahoo page multiple times and don't see an option to ask for permission to join. Where is it?

Thanks,
James

I decided to make the group available to anyone, even if you are not interested to buy the EZ_Suite.
This should save me a few mails
It should also be a little easier for new users to find some info.

You will still need to ask for approval (sorry but I hate spams).

It's only on invitation. People who bought the suite and want to join the group can send me a mail (check the readme.txt file).
Please note that the suite is currently unavailable (at least for a few months).

Unfortunately, a dead link...

Udo from the Yahoo digital guitar list turned me on to this site a few days ago because of my questions about the Yamaha EZ. I had just discovered that it might be more than a toy. I have since read all 82 pages here.

Although I don't personally have an EZ yet I hope to acquire one. I'd like to say "MANY THANKS" to you for all your efforts on this project.

I hope you will check back in here when you return.

Regards,
James

I don't have the ez suite. Wish I could check out a demo *hint hint, nudge nudge*.

I'm happy right now just experimenting with the ez as a controller but I found a demo of another product which looks interesting. Quite a bit of a learning curve (at least for me) and of course not tailored to the ez guitars as the ez suite is.

But worth a mention I think.

Maaan, started reading this thread at 1am, forced myself to stop at 3:30am. Today I finished the thread, then went and bought a EZ-AG (£80 from amazon UK). Should arrive tomorrow, very excited... :)

Amazing to follow this 2 year thread in 2 days, markleford and mbncp have done some great work, and everyone else has been really supportive. Can't wait to get involved!

The new Ez suite is pretty cool! I was playing up my E string and it's a sweet sounding blues scale.

I'm mostly using the old suite as there's a shortcut to it on my desktop and the new one's in a new folder and I don't feel like switching it yet lol.

it arrived! sweet! i wasn't sure what would arrive in the package (the youtube review for the ez-eg mentioned it came with cables and whatnot), but it seems at least that the uk ez-ag is pretty spartan; its just the guitar, nothing else. Had to run to the corner store to get batteries! So sometime soon I gotta get midi cables, midi-usb adapter, and a power supply.

Still, so far I'm really enjoying it. I can see already it'll suit my needs just fine; quickly sketching ideas into my DAW. I've played guitar since I was 10, but only dabbled in keyboards. I can use my evolution controller fine, but I have to work at it, whereas I can play guitar without thinking.

Why aren't music stores in london open at 11pm? Grr...

The EZ made the "Three Surprisingly Cool MIDI Controllers Under $300" article. Sounds like 2 other 82 page threads.

Only got 2 cool ice cubes out of five. Looks like the hunt for another midi controller may begin

Looks like my site and this thread got a link at the end of the article, too! :D

EDIT: Here's a corrected link for it...
