I've been looking for a sampler for a while now and at the moment DirectWave is at the top of the list but i have a few questions:

I may buy FL Studio in the near future. If i buy the full package i take it any instruments i already own will be deducted from the full price but at the same value as if i bought them with the package?Or will i only pay the difference of the retail price?

Is it possible in the latest beta to show/hide each part of the gui?It would be perfect if i could hide the zone window when i wasn't using it 8)

Will support for battery 2/3 be included in future updates?I have battery two and may upgrade to three.OTOH if directwave is that good i may well ditch batters :P

What free sample content do i get?Just the ones that are red?!Or is the 2 gig collection included,or do i have to buy FL Studio for that :x :hihi: Ignore that i just found that samples highlighted in blue are for regd fl owners. So do i have to buy the sample content seperately,i really need some vocals for my tracks!

Also is there a proper manual/guide for it?I was trying to route programs to different tracks in ableton but i couldn't get anything to play through the tracks i had routed the programs to.I'll post a screenshot.Nevermind,i had set the outputs to 001-3.So are the outputs for routing to audio tracks?Sorry to ask all these questions but the 'help' is worse than an NI manual! :hihi:

Thanks! :help:

FL registered users are currently getting a 40% discount on Direct Wave (and other plugins such as Sytrus). If I were you I would go for FL asap, and then decide what plugins I really need (besides those included in FL and all the freeware currently available).

By the way, are you related to SomaFM?
I'm addicted to Ill Street Lounge and Space Station! Brilliant, bloody excellent stuff.

Does that include the sample content or is that a seperate thing? And does the offer apply to all versions of FL?I do like the IL instruments...

Well maybe somebody else can give you better information (Toxicatorrrrr!!!!!). What I can tell you is that as a registered user, I have access to a good part of the Samplefusion contents. I also bought Directwave recently (taking advantage of a special Xmas offer). I use it only for my own samples (I do not like using presets or other people stuff), but if I am not wrong I could download all the red and blue banks. Concerning the offer, after getting the FL7 free update (when I bought Fruity Loops it was version 2.something and I've got free updates ever since) we also received an special offer which is a 40% discount in Directwave, Sytrus, Poizone and Toxic III if I'm not wrong). I own quite a few IL plugins (can't resist special offers) but at the moment I feel I have too many things, so I do not think I'll buy Poizone or Toxic (I must resist, I must resist, I must resist ...)
Fruity Loops already contains a 'sampler' in some way, and depending on what you plan to do, you do not need Directwave at all. But I think with the special offer it's just 40-50 dollars, which is quite appealing.
Please, if you are thinking of following my advice, make sure that if you buy FL you would get the offer, I'm not sure about that.

Sounds good to me.I will get FL(as i was planning to anyway'just won't be the PE)and test DirectWave smore but on first impressions it seems like a highly creative instrument with a shitload of potential,i can sample all my cpu hungry vsts! And still play them as instruments!!!But to get FL and DirectWave is even better. As for the samples,i can't sing soprano or imitate a choir!:hihi: And what about using drum hits or multisampled instruments?!

Thats what i want the sampler for,so i can have access to instruments that i don't have in my studio(and i've got a good sample cd that hasn't been put to good use yet :) )

Update:Good advice Mambo.Floops covers a lot of ground. And the new fx :o

Love the sequencer too.Wasn't too hot on the skin so i dld one of sqeetz(nflux i think)and it's very pleasing to the eye 8)

When you get a license you do indeed get access to 2gig of sample content which is made up of a selection of the sample cd's from samplefusion. So far FL's ticking a lot of boxes for me and as lomg as it's stable it coud be the host i've been looking for :D if it is then maybe i can get this show on the road...

Good one mambo :tu:
