there gets to be a point where you have to stop putting yourself out there because you can no longer vouch for your own availability. at that point I feel my poor name can stand no more besmirching and I opt to alleviate that source of ill repute.

I clicked on the link in your sig a while ago and have not been dissappointed yet, just about to get back to it in fact...

Am I wrong in guessing that it's a constant stream and not technically "on demand" any more? Or is it generating a new playlist every time I tune in?

there are two different features: NTNS Overkill which is the 24/7 stream whose playlist is the 1500-some-odd tracks that I have downloaded for NTNS over the years. the On Demand stream is a weekly playlist of new (or 'newish') material that hasn't been added to the Overkill playlist yet. the On Demand is in lieu of the weekly live show that I discontinued a few weeks back.

Overkill is hosted here at my house and is subject to sketchy upstream, a dodgy router and occasional power or cable outages. NTNS On Demand is hosted remotely and (should) be available at all times.
