It can't save presets as standard vst... it means that it can't save parameters to song.
The synthesis mode is interesting, but the filters and the envelopes are a bit more non-standard than I can be agree with.
In fact, the matrix assignment is very slow to work with, maybe a scrollable list of connections would help.

I'm curious about the GUI. The dropdown menus looks exactly like the ones in the Java standard library.
But i see you co-wrote CREATE (C++) and "only" have some familiarity with Java. Coincidence or did you do the GUI in Java ?
Does'nt really matter.I'm just curious.

I will make the saving of patches as standard VST a top priority.
jupiter8: Orz uses JUCE. Any similarity to Java interface components is purely coincidental.
Please keep the suggestions coming!

Well... I've been working a bit more and I have to say it is very interesting. Altough it hasn't lopass filters, pulling the filter Q to high values makes the band peak work as a Band Pass due to its "Resonance normalization".
And the contrast/brightness for oscillators are really crazy...
and very intuitive.
Wow!!
Let's await the next...

How could i miss that? I've used JUCE myself a couple of times. I thought about it but did'nt mention it.
I thought the Java angle was much more intriguing.

I may be missing something, but Orz loads like a VST, but when I try to load a patch, it doesn't seem to load. Nothing comes up in the popdown menus & no sound comes out. (???)

Yay! It was beginning to look like I wouldn't get any feedback.
Wikter: You're right about the filter. Because the coefficients are real, there are actually two peaks: one at positive frequency f and one at -f. Near 0 and Nyquist they're closest to each other on the z-plane and thus synergize, bringing the response between them up. I have been seriously considering optional shelf-type behavior for the filter section as well.
jupiter8: "No user interface components were harmed in the making of this plugin." Or something like that.
osiris: Are you trying to load the patch through the host interface or by use of Orz's load button? Unfortunately, Orz doesn't yet handle patches through the host. That's my next enhancement. The popdown menus are also still non-functional. That's coming very soon too.
If you did use Orz's load button, you should have seen a file browser that showed about 20 presets. After selecting a preset file, the interface should update and you should get sound out. It's supposed to be that simple, anyway. If any of these steps didn't work for you, please let me know!

MT--It was thru the Orz load button. The patch folder came right up. Selected one but it didn't seem to load. I'm doing midi notes thru a piano roll, so maybe that's why no sound. I read something about keyboard. Is that it?? Thanks.

I have failed to reproduce your error. It might not matter anyway because a new release is coming soon, one which might give you better luck.osiris wrote:MT--It was thru the Orz load button. Are you sure your overall setup is correct? Are you getting output from other plugins? Which host are you using?

Oh yes, everything else works. I re-downloaded it & got the same. I even punched my keyboard to see if that would help. Am running it in Orion Platinum, which can be a little quirky with stuff. Look forward to the new release.
