Kontakt 2 (I'm sure you have it from Komplete) does an excellent job of reading REX files; I've never had a problem with it yet.

The best tool for the job re. Cubase and REX files is Stylus RMX which can import REX files and use them directly as if it were a REX player.
If however the REX files are in a refill then rewire the REX player in Reason into Cubase and copy the REX midi file into Cubase

...but does not allow you to further trim and adjust start and end points...ESSENTIAL and something only HALion or Kontakt allows
Stylus RMX is great, but remember all his loops have been pre-quantized and the slices trimmed optimally for timing and requantizing etc, something thats a bit trickier depending on the source material..

I know how to put them in as a audio file, but i will like to put .wav or .rex on midi track that each loop piece will had it's own "key", so i can play each part back on my midi keyboard. Is this possible with kontakt?

well, what made me smile a bit was the original question about a lil program for this. Kontakt as well as Halion are all sorts of things, but certainly not lil programs...loachm wrote:...that made me smile a bit...FractalMBrown wrote:Kontakt 2 (I'm sure you have it from Komplete) does an excellent job of reading REX files; I've never had a problem with it yet.
