My two cents on NATIVE INSTRUMENTS KORE

Native Instruments Kore is awesome. In fact, I think it beats Receptor by a long shot. The only minus I can think of is that you still have to use a computer when performing live. Therefore, I think you should be able to use it without a computer. This would probably mean that they would have to look at the Receptor with concern to that. I also think that because several instruments can go in the inputs, it should probably have different forms (such as a rackmount form and a pedalboard format for guitars and basses). I've posted a forum with this to see what you guys think.

I am afraid I have to disagree that it is awesome as it does not do what it promises which is complete control of VSTs. Not even NI VSTs go very deep with Kore offering only two pages!!! Very misleading for a lot of peopel and many complaints in NI forums! But on other hand it is a revolutionary product However it pretty sad that no company seem interested ( not even NI) to explore its full potential. It could bring hardware so close to sofware and vice-versa....

Kore and Receptor are completely different products...

I mean this is like saying that a 303 is awesome, it beats a Korg OASYS by a long shot, but the 303 should have a wider variety of sounds.

There's only two pages pre-programmed for most NI plugins, you mean. While that IS the limit with some of the plugins, you can take others much farther. I've got some Reaktor ensembles that use nine and ten pages...

I'll disagree with you here as well. It's not that NI's being misleading, it's that a lot of the complaints on the KORE forum come from people who never read the product descriptions in the first place. They get KORE expecting to use it as a MIDI controller for example, while it specifically states in the product info that the KORE controller DOESN'T send MIDI automation but uses host autromation instead. Minor things like that.

Yeah, there ARE some issues, but most of the issues can be attributable to user error or a f**ked up system, and NOT to KORE per se.

Personally I wont give to it any time , I am going yamaha motif es6 and after that all the way virus ti polar. So goodbye software and goodbye Kore. The only use it is going to have from now on is only as a soundcard when I occasionaly use software sequencers that is all . I prefer using hardware with lesser options and power but greater speed and creativity than software with unlimited power , but full of bugs and inconvient way to work , which is also very stressful to my back. I already bought my first synthesizer (MicroKorg ) and I regret that I have not done so years ago. Software is powerful and good but a huge waste of time. And because I am a lawyer I can say it to you that is easy to sue NI for misleading advertising it just does not worth it because the product costs only 500 Euroes. It will cost alot more to sue them!

As i said it does not change the fact that Kore is a very good product. And to be fair with all those diffirent types of software out there it is impossible to have a common platform. While hardware synth do not have the same problem because they are a lot like Reason which is self contained. And that is the way most DAWs are going today.
