This is a major update - lots of new features, *and* it's now both an effect and a synth.

This is just the AU version - VST version to follow.

Full release expected some time in March.

Very cool-looking!
:D

...........
Bug reports:
-Tweaking any of the buffer parameters in the Effect version makes my mouse behave erraticly, but then I don't really know what buffer paramters are.

-There's something horribly wrong with either the Pulse Width button in the "Misc" panel or the "hard sync" dial. I get reproducable crashes of the most cataclysmic kind involving them.
I'll send a crash log your way soon.

Mac OSX 10.3.9, Logic Express 6

.....

Tuning loops to a bpm is a breeze with the little looplength thingy, now i just tweak coarse and fine tunes until it displays the desired number of bars :clown:

The added LFOs look interesting, haven't tried them really yet, or probed for bugs.

-How much is that update in the window? :D

Marco :)

Eek, it shouldn't crash (though I've made some really horrible noises using hard sync and PWM at the same time - they're not really compatible, though maybe someone will find the horrible noises useful).
More useful than a crash log would probably be the preset, so I can see the settings that crashed it.
Thanks for checking it out!

Post

this is going to be tricky as the crashes are fatal so i can't really save the presets.
Try something like

-loading a loop
-set it to loop off and no release for proper loop play
-adjust the tempo to something out-there, like 156 to see if the tuning works ok
. play with hard sync and PW and it might give you a Core Audio overload or just crash in a mess of looped, neverending Apple warning sound. It's pretty frightening :-o

Take it with a grain of salt, my machine isn't exactly a spring chicken so I'm expecting some shortcomings. Core Audio warning dialogue reeks of slow cpu.

Hi Os,

It's looking awesome by spec's. But how can I use it in Logic? I want to feed it with audio from Sculpture (soft-synth) so I need to open it in an effect slot. But it's only available in an instrument input slot.

Looks like the effect version is failing Logic's AU validation. I'll have to debug that.
Could you confirm that if you start up Logic's AU manager, it lists xfls3 twice but one of them is greyed out?

Yes, I can confirm that.

I managed to get the Effect running in Ableton and fed it with Camel. AAaaaawesome.... what a toy! How I learned to hate that "Demo period over" message. When will it be possible to buy a license?

hm Os,

re: effect version, it DOES look dodgy. I get two Crossfade Loopsynths when i load it but none of them is greyed out. I can choose either one.

The effect version does very spooky things to my mouse action when I try to tweak anything in the "buffer parameters" section.
It's lke it's all over the place.

The instrument version seems fine, regardless of which of the "two" I choose
(except for the bug I mentioned earlier).

PS just read, AU manager, I was talking about the channel strips :dog:
...where can I find said AU manager so I can check it out ?

How much will the upgrade be?

Hi Marco,

Apple's AU manager utility comes with Logic (and with Final Cut, for some reason I don't understand). First boot Logic then go the "Logic Pro / Preferences / Start Logic AU Manager".

Apple came up with the AU manager to bash bad boys like Os that doesn't strictly follow Apples plug-in specifications. To make this game a little more amusing Apple use to change the specifactions now and then. Shouldn't be too easy you know... ;-)

Per - I'm usually reluctant to let people buy beta stuff because things might change significantly between beta and release. I've just got the VST version to get done though, then another week of beta (unless anything major comes up) and I'll release.
Bonteburg - I do nothing with the mouse. I really don't think whatever problems you're having can be my fault.
docsavage - v3 has a different licence code. If you have a v2 licence, you'll get that error when you load v3.

yeah, forgive me for not handling 192kHz with a 4096 sample buffer size (which is what's taking it out currently). :)

Fine, I'll wait then and use this time limited version for playing ultra fast short punk songs ;-)

Is there any specific area of the plug-in that we should focus on when testing it?

Well, the recording functionality is obviously the main new bit. As well as watching out for bugs, I'm also interested to know whether I've missed any major bits of functionality that would make it much more useful.
