Definitely gonna need to find these - and as I hinted in my mail (which I'd love if you'd respond) - maybe create a "Huelsbeck Bank" for the SQ8L? Only if you're not loaded with other work of course.

Well I know that, but except for the beat and the kicks, I didn't find the lead (unless that was the Hubbard one) and the bell-kind of sound. Also, did you reduce the quality of QuadraSID to "low" or something like that?

Haha, well tells me that I'm still a small fish compared to one of the major SID Guru's out there.

C'mon man. Roll up those sleeves and forge your own SID grooviness!

Quit nagging Chris about those "holy grail" presets. I doubt they exist. So much of what makes an overall sound is layering, which ones you choose during the composing process, how they're all mixed together and of course... the actual notes and performance of said notes. All of these choices make up a sound that can't easily be broken down into little pieces because the entire process is dynamic, feeding on itself as it goes along.

Unfortunately I can't stand using it. It's impossible.

I had an ESQ-1 and still regret selling it. The UI is just as on the actual device, but at least then i could use my hands and not a clicky mouse. Could really do with a less genuine GUI.

SOunds wise, this is ace! I love the ESQ/SQ sound.

Btw: I just tried the latest version of the plugin and when it's running I still get the bug every now and then where my computer keyboard quits working until I restart Cubase... is anyone else getting that?

I understand there are problems with the keyboard input and with updating the GUI (0.83a)? Can please someone describe these problems in detail?
Btw: It would be nice if such problems were reported to me via mail (the address can be found in the SQ8L readme), so that I can fix them faster. Thanks.

Hi Jeremy,
Unfortunately all of the Factory soundbanks for the SQ-80 are not Freely available on-line, so hence they could not be included in the soundset I provided.

I think Syntaur still holds and maintains copyright on the SQ-80 set, http://www.syntaur.com/esq.html

SQ80L behaves very oddly in FL Studio 7:

- It makes no sound at all,but when you click on the VSTi testing keyboard,the sound is there.After clicking on that testing KB,the sound in general begins to work as normal until you change a preset,then it mutes again.

- The keys (notes) played are all mixed up.
Playing some keys with the MIDI keyboard or the typing keyboard in FL7 makes SQ8L play a totally different note from a different octave (the behavior can be also seen in realtime by watching the VSTi testing keyboard while playing some notes).This makes the synth unusable.What a shame,this is one of the best retro synths out there.

Seems I found exactly when these issues happen:

The problem occurs only when the SQ8L VSTi window is in focus.When changing the focus to the Step Sequencer/Piano Roll in FL7 (so the SQ8L window loses it), everything is back to normal.
It seems like a bug in the SQ8L VSTi.
