Thanks to those who helped me with regards to the registry edits for the Waldorf Edition off-line.
With specific regards to the Waldorf Edition-I am now trying to figure out where to place the Receptorized factory presets.
The factory patches installed by the plug-in into Banks and Patches seem to have a sequential numbering scheme for
the enclosing folder-but I do not seem to have the proper access rights to modify or add folders into the Banks and Patches directory....

I don't think it's a good idea to edit those folders directly. The theory is, you have FXP and/or FXB files already....you drop them into "drop installers here" and install, and receptor decides which plug-in they are for and puts them in the right place and numbers them. It's all in the manualrubaiyat_23 wrote:(cross-listed on MuseReceptor Yahoo group)

To answer your original question though:
how to get root access
How do I enable root access via SSH
then install something like putty for ssh. open it up and go to your Receptor's ip address, logging in as root. Then you can chmod any file/folder you want!
Course goes without saying that at this point you can hose up your receptor real good if you aren't careful
ps. That ogg chap is a bloody genius, btw

Got it working, thanks-I was over-thinking the process.
A couple of things would be helpful for all involved:
1. Receptor Remote for Mac OS X could use a bit of an update, to match the ease of use of the Windows version. (I had another one of those SMB/CIFS afternoons where one spends a half-hour trying to mount hte Receptor hard drive.)
2. As regards .rar archives on the Yahoo groups, it's not entirely obvious that you must de-archive these before installation (after all, there's no reason why Receptor couldn't do this from the installer, right?). A short README might be useful, even for the occasionally brain-dead.
3. There's no reason why Receptor Remote for Windows couldn't be adapted to handle the registry copy/paste as used for the Waldorf Edition, really-or many of the unsupported plug-in installations.
4. I always read the manual. After all, in my day job, I write training manuals!
