Thanks Funkadil,
You instuctions are much appreiciated.
Im not the greatest at progamming synths but thats probably more to do with laziness than anything (I hope)
You've given me a good starting point, my next post here will hopefully be a rant about how great this synth sounds.
Are the FX really needed? or shall I just use my existing vst's where needed.
Cheers

the effects and synth are unrelated other than the fact i wrote them at the same time and i've designed both of them using the same methods. so, they have simmilar behaviour, but the effects are not ment to be directly a part of the synth, otherwise i'd put them right in there. i only use that set of effects and i only use xhip though, and i find it works best for me.

And still looking for a way to rename the patches or should I say 'programs'.
I've started to create my own bank (first time in any synth hurrah!) and would really like to name them.

Quoting aciddose:disturb wrote:acciddose, could you please describe what's the parameter filter in the control section ?
"certain controls are filtered when changed, like cutoff. there are actually only 256 steps available for cutoff, and only i think 80 steps are available in the current sliders if you do not hold shift. the parameter filter smooths changes to prevent stepping effects when adjusting the controls. the parameter filter control allows adjustment of the time to reach 1/256th of the distance after a parameter is changed. (if cutoff is moved from 0% to 100%, it will reach 1/256th, or 99.6% within the time displayed)
filter prgchg means, filter during a program change. usually the parameter filter is disabled on program change so that changes are immediate. sometimes you might want to glide between different parameter settings, so i included that option."
As far as I know, you can't do that yet.Jono-60 wrote:And still looking for a way to rename the patches

I wish every vst dev were as thoughtful as aciddose...gsoto wrote:Quoting aciddose:disturb wrote:acciddose, could you please describe what's the parameter filter in the control section ?

I can only second the wish for XHIP to b finished. I'd love to see it get a really nice GUI, but as it is i can get some really amazing sounds from it already. It's a unique synth with an organic feel to it.. it kind of reminds me of groovecube's exciton and AAS ultraanalog symths, which are the only ons that i know that come close to capturing some of the analog feel of the sound. But like i said: XHIP has it's own sound, and i really really love it
That's why it deserves the best GUI it can get.
