Squids and co. I understand one or more of you use ST on Receptor and I was wondering if I could ask a question or two.

1) Do you know how the licensing works for this? Can I only have my ST2.x installed on my computer OR Receptor. Or is it possible to do both? Additionally, if I had more than one Receptor, could I install ST2.x on both? I'm sorry if that's a really stupid question, but when it comes to this concept I have to admit....I'm a bit stooooopid.

2) ST2.x has access to 16 stereo outputs, Receptor has 16 "channels". Does this mean that one instance of ST2.x is going to take up a whole Receptor? I really have only a couple of things I definitely want to take away from my computer - ST2.x, WusikStation and maybe some effects like CSR. There's not that much more that I use these days. However, if I'm restricted to one instance of ST on Receptor due to the audio channel usage - you can probably imagine why question 1 above interests me. ;) I'm guessing that one ST2 only takes up a full Receptor if you actually actively use each one of the 16 channels of output. Even then, it's not terribly impressive, but certainly better than the worst case scenario.

This is really Receptor-heavy questioning, and I wouldn't ask here usually, but I think I remember that Squids(?) maybe has a Receptor and has ST2 loaded(?)

With regards to licensing, a Receptor counts as another computer. Basically that means you're free to install it and authorise it just as you would any other 2nd (or 3rd) computer in your studio. Just make sure you don't do anything uncool like authorise ST2 on your Receptor and then lend it to a friend.

With regards to the stereo outs, ST2 will act just like any other plugin instrument with multiple output channels. I don't have a Receptor here so I can't answer your question directly, but you should have some luck asking over at the Receptor forum here on KVR.
