I recently hooked up an Edirol FA101 to my system (running Cubase SL2). I'm monitoring on a pair of Fostex Pm05's connected to outputs 1&2 by jack cables. Everything's fine and dandy so long as I am running my system (Dell M90 laptop) on battery, however as soon as I plug in the power cable, monitoring becomes unbelievably noisey.
The sounds are seemingly being generated by the laptop - the noises synchronise with in - PC activities. It's rather like being able to hear the computer think.
Recorded sound has no noise, nor does any signal output within the system itself.....
Any thoughts appreciated.
Noisey Firewire Soundcard......
