Well, my latencies did improve, I think I stated that somewhere, so that's my doing. The PCI thing is what EMUs are truly notorious for; I had done extensive research and tweaking on the PCI bus, with mixed results. It looks like that it may have been the graphics card, maybe it was just never good enough for what I needed. I'll never buy ATI again, that's for sure.

I just let the generic Windows XP driver run my videocard. It's a basic ATI card I got from newegg. I'm telling you, after doing a fresh install of XP, I'm coming to the conclusion the less 3rd party drivers you add the better - less chance of conflicts.
My internet partion kept restarting for no reason after installing a dual core 4400 last week. After mucking about with the Bios & XP settings for 2 days, I unstalled AMD's dual core optimizer program (which I installed when I got the duak-core chip) and the problem vanished. Seemed like it was f**king up with my wireless PCI networking card

BTW - I've got a 350 watt PSU and haven't had any problems with that. Bios tweaks didn't really seem to help much in my case. My advice for EMU users is = do fresh OS install with slipstreamed SP2 (I used Nlite and it was fantastic!). Install just the drivers you need for your mobo/processor, the EMU drivers. Make sure the card is working stable. Than if you add any drivers after you will know who the culprit is.

my 1820m card is pretty solid, runs at 10ms, and sounds great. every once in a while i'll have an issue, but thats drivers in general! the card runs great after doing tweaks in xp from the guidelines @ http://www.musicxp.net/ and turning off many services that are not needed.
