What is the least expensive way to play sampletekk libraries ?
I do not need to do any editing, just a live playback function.

A couple of solutions. Some of these only work for the Kontakt1 format libraries, not the K2-format (which require a new, used, or academic version of Kontakt2).
(1) A used copy of Kontakt1.
(2) New or used VSampler - IF it streams (Rain Piano is 700MB, TBO and 7CG are 11G or so each, so you have to have streaming).
(3) EXSC plus another streaming-capable sampler (new or used).

www.extranslator.com is also close to releasing their own sample player VSTi which might be worth keeping an eye out for.dougsyo wrote:(3) EXSC plus anothe streaming-capable sampler (new or used).

True, although I wasn't thinking about that at the time. Will it be K2-compatible? Probably not for some sophisticated scripts, but this may not matter for the samples. Will it be compatible with the K2.2 update? I have K2, but since I'm going to get the EXSC sample player inexpensively, no doubt I'll pick it up.
Incidentally, someone has K1+K2 for sale on EBay, it's listed in the Marketplace right now.
