For sure it is better. It features six sample sets instead of a single one. You've got a greater number of controls and in all it has an even greater realism: While the HurdyGurdy sounds very much like a cat singing its mid summer night serenade the Bagpipe does even look very close to one. (We supply some images of the instruments to support that impression)

To all lovers of the scottish highland pipes: Sorry, I had no chance yet to record one ... yet! (but I'm afraid I'll have to make up on that ASAP)

I know of two dedicated midi bagpipe chanters that are on the market:
http://www.deger.com/ (A friend of mine has one of these and he seems very happy with it.)

I am using a Yamaha WX11 midi wind instrument as a midi pipe replacement. The VST BagPipes control engine though is optimized to be played with a standard midi keyboard (that's because most people still don't use a midi wind instrument).
Wow! I had no idea that I am part of a revolutionary movement.

Yep, there will be a rebate for users of my other products as well as bundle offers for those who have not yet got any of my plugins and sample libraries.
Please give me a couple of days to set the webpage up. There are also a couple of bugs and issues to iron out before I can open the gates for the prerelease sales.
Thanks!

I was getting very close to buying the virtual hurdy gurdy. If I can get a bundle price on the bagpipes too, I'm sold.

Thanks! The bundle price for both plugins is EUR 70,- during the prerelease period (instead of Eur 77,- sum of single prices) I haven't had the time yet to update the order page but you will surely want to check it out first. :-)

regards

Andreas
