Is it possible to convert my soundcard's S/PDIF output to analog audio? Cause that way i could run it into an external fx and return it to the Analog Line-in to my DAW. (haha i have only that many I/O's (i know i know...)
I assume it needs a D/A converter.
How would you do it?
thx

D/A converter

Depends on what FX unit you're using. Quite a few nowadays have S/PDIF in and out, so you could run S/PDIF out of your soundcard into a S/PDIF on the FX unit and the jack outs of the FX unit back into the jacks of the soundcard. The Lexicon MPX series (as far as I can remember) all have digital in/outs, and those units are pretty cheap. So you may not need a standalone converter.

no, i sadly dont have spdif inputs, then i wouldnt have asked it...
It seems its cheaper to buy another m-audio card and daisy chain it for 4 more inputs and outputs.
thanks
