[LiveSlice v145b8]
But if you LMB on (AutoStretch) button first, then twice RMB (AutoPitch) and change the host's tempo, the pitch isn't being change (whereas the button is still highlighted)
But there's sometimes a problem with the mouse pointer not turning into the 'hand pointer' when hovering over the parameter boxes (after having first clicked on a parameter box)
But when I record a loop, there are lots of glitches and the waveform isn't displayed on the track (it even made Live crash one time
) I must refresh the GUI (by selecting another arrangement or closing/reopeing LS) in order to see the waveform on the track and hear correctly the loop again.
But I find it quite confusing as the arrow keys seem to have an 'endless behavior' (I.E. when at the end of the sample, clicking on the right arrow brings us back to the beginning of the sample etc.)
Moreover, sometimes, when LS is playing, if I use the arrow keys without zooming in the slicer, LS seems to be calculating something ('wait cursor')...
Cheers,
GilJ.

Yeah, I'm hoping to have a release ready as soon as possible - but please do look at the new autostretch - I'm sure there's still room for improvement, and I'd like the new features to be 100% for the release version, so i don't have to make significant changes in 1.5DarkStar wrote:phew!

I'd also like it to be 100% for the release version as I've been too lazy to beta test and would like to benefit fully from the hard work of others.

Well, its working at 88 and 96 now, thanks so much for that, ohm!
I am getting something very wierd in Reaper though. Say I have a series of midi clips in a row, LS will play the first midi clip and then stop at the end of it, not carrying on with the other clips. Its like its reading a note-off at the end of the first clip and no more note-ons for the others. This didnt happen in beta 7.
Cheers,
Tom

Beta8 BR 076 - Liveslice stops audio signal after one beat length loop
my observation here is that if the note-off goes right to the end of the looped sequence (a clip in Live in this case) the loop will not be played again.
however, if i stop the note-off a semiquaver before the end, no less, the loop will.. loop.
so i'm pretty sure that's a bug..? --oops repeat! sorry tom
Beta8 BR 077 - RND button on AHD affects only those events fall within the Random range
this could be a feature, but i don't remember it being mentioned..? i did request a feature which was to do with only affecting selected events, but i don't think this is that.. is it?
--update--
this is actually more unpredictable.. even though the entire random range is selected, there are still a few segments which are not included in the random 'jig'

not really bug, just a bit messy..

Beta 8 FR - Mono button for each track in the arranger
man, that would be sooo useful, for me atleast - anyone else?..
Beta8 BR 079 - Segment parameters from the mouse to the start are redrawn
..if (or something very close to this) the mouse button is pressed on the active segment on an area between the active and the following slice. the segment parameters are set to the same position to the mouse. for example, if the mouse clicks the area to the top right of the segment, all the preceding slices are set to the high value, and bottom right creates low values.
the area seems to be very small and depends on the stretch and hold settings.

fixed, the slices were not properly updated when the recording was ended and saved, causing glitches in playback. I'm not sure if I should fix this bug or just start marketing liveslice as a plugin "made especially for glitch and IDM" - sounded kinda cool actually (if glitch is still cool, I dunno, I might be a bit out of the loop, pun intended)GilJ wrote:But when I record a loop, there are lots of glitches and the waveform isn't displayed on the track (it even made Live crash one time

removed the endless behavior - I agree it's more intuitive witout it.GilJ wrote:But I find it quite confusing as the arrow keys seem to have an 'endless behavior' (I.E. when at the end of the sample, clicking on the right arrow brings us back to the beginning of the sample etc.)

this is actually a feature, but I changed it. The new "stretch" parameter led to a new limitation: the sum of AHD cannot exceed 100% of the slice duration - so I chose to limit the possible values when you set the AHD params (if H+D = 80%, A could not exceed 20%). This applied to the random function too, and that doesn't work.CinningBao wrote: Beta8 BR 077 - RND button on AHD affects only those events fall within the Random range
I changed this so that the other values are automatically recalculated so that the sum is still 100%.
If you randomize the attack to values from 0-100% the hold and decay is automatically changed.
When changing AHD with the mouse, it's possible to hold down both mouse buttons to limit the values so you don't change the H and D unintentionally.

Sorry, but I don't think I understand. You are talking about parameters like pitch / pan in the arranger right? So you click an area without any events and the parameter of the event next to it is changed? Can't reproduce this.CinningBao wrote: How about a new topic on "mono" - I need to know exaclty why you need it, If I don't understand it I can't implement it.

not 'an area without any events', the area to the right of a segment before the next segment. i can recreate it here no problem, so maybe my description isn't correct.ohm wrote:Sorry, but I don't think I understand. ..
after some testing, i have found that it isn't necessarily clicking the mouse and dragging from the area before the next segment which causes this re-draw, one can click on any segment, and drag to the left to recreate this. this doesn't happen everytime, only when the start from a particular position.. (oh yeah that really helps!)
i'm doing this with the pitch parameter, but have also been able to reproduce it with other parameters.
maybe i should record it? do you know of any suitable tools?

ok do you mean this: you have 8 events in a track and you select the pitch parameter.
Then click on event 5 and drag to the left, over events 4,3,2 and 1.
This is supposed to set the pitch of events 1,2,3,4,5 to values corresponding to the position of the mouse. That's not a bug - it's a feature that enables you to quickly "draw" parameter values.

Beta8 BR 0A - Imported loop consumes different time depending on host tempo
on importing a loop while my host is running at 90bpm the slicer correctly slices up the loop, but if i drop the tempo to 88 and reimport the loop it is played in half the time (all the events are squished together)
i posted a pic here: http://www.box.net/public/unq0piiom1
the top track in the arranger is the import at 90, and the lower, wonky, track is imported with the host at 88.
