I know of an EastWest Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra Silver edition. Is this the same as the EWQLSO Silver Pro XP version offered in the Group buy??

No, Silver XP is an expansion to the original Silver. So you need the original one as well if you want to use XP. The same goes with Gold + Gold XP and Platinum + Platinum XP.
