AD, if what you say was true then making cracks would be legal and you could sell them off your website.
And I don't change IDs for separate versions either. (Well, if I ever do a version 2 I will.) But then I don't recommend running multiple minor-versions of my plugs concurrently (though usually, in most hosts, it will work.)
Oh, and on the wrapper thing... the wrapper should just get its ID from the payload and pass it on to the host.
All I'm trying to say is there's 100 hosts and a million plugins out there. The onus is on the plugin coders to make them work. But again, you're not losing sales so what do you care if a "customer" is happy or not? Why waste 30 seconds registering when you could spend 45 minutes arguing?

Yes, and then there is the whole you are charging money and he isn't difference.AdmiralQuality wrote:It's not your decision as to whether it's "proper" or not AD. You are in violation of the agreement and you are completely free to NOT write VST plugins.
This is the difference between how you and I do things. I'd just fix it. You blame everyone else.
And the why are you invading a thread about someone else's synth? difference.

"making cracks would be legal and you could sell them off your website."
you can in canada buddy. the americans at the moment are currently attempting to have s "canadian dmca" implemented by the conservatives. however, in doing this since they have a minority government, an election would be called before the bill could be passed and it seems that a liberal increase would occur giving the conservatives an even smaller minority. either that or, maybe a liberal minority.
"Why waste 30 seconds registering" this would require that i give them control. it requires that i agree to a licence with them which to this point i have not done. everything i've said in my other post is based upon this fact and i'd be throwing all that away.
not only can you sell/distribute devices intended for circumvention of protections in canada, you can also freely "pirate" any music or movies that you like while in your own home. the only activity anyone is liable for is distribution, and even then it isnt a criminal offence, rather it must be brought to a civil court by the copyright holder. this also applies to software like the software you sell, which might be something you should have a concern about. let me repeat, it is 100% legal for someone to copy your software for themselves, then give the copy to a friend. it is also 100% legal for someone to download a copy from some random country and use it themselves. if this concerns you, vote conservative!
i'll sure not, however.
"its ID from the payload" that doesnt make sense. why should plugin format X implement totally unrelated features of plugin format Z?

Intentionally misquoting me. Too bad I'm in Canada where we have no intellectual rights or I could sue!laputa_sync wrote:Is it...AdmiralQuality wrote: There's a word for people who do shoddy work on the cheap but I donut remember it...

acidose, I love this synth. Just a little thing I'm confused about...
In regards to Unison...
1) Can you please add a stereo spread feature ?
2) Do the unison voices start on random phases ? I often get a flanger type effect which indicates they are all starting at the same phase. Randomization property doesn't seem to sort it I'm afraid. Any ideas ?
Absolutely love this filter ! WOW

you'll have to use the randomize feature and play some notes in order to mix up the phases. there is no practical way to randomize voice states for unison without adding a very large amount of code. this is something i'll be interested in working on as i improve the layout of the code. i cant jump on either of these things, there are other things which need to be done.
instead of randomizing "voice state", you'll be able to apply randomization discretely with the event routing feature once that is implemented.

i'd dare to add only my ignorant, humble 2 cents on Aciddose thoughts on refusing to register his own plugs thru a company...i totally agree, i can totally see your point even not being a developer, after all i tried to follow a similar attitude in ages even only making my own music and distributing it..
if someone disagrees, then fine, its a matter of principles and choices..still AcidDose have plenty of rights to behave like he did..
oh and btw AcidDose, on my DAW the multiple versions are easily living together as bonus
...i didnt post anything so far about this synth, but let me at least tell ya i think you re doing a great work just for the sake of doing a great work...much respect for that

Probably been asked already somewhere in this thread or somewhere else (and it's not listed in the todo) but...

... Basically I need to assign velocity both to Filter frequency as set in the screenshot and also to Mixer.Oscillator.B.
How do I go about that given that the Velocity Route slider obviously allows only one single 'route' ?

You don't. That's my main gripe with Xhip. Also some syncing LFO's to beat would be nice, but IMO more flexible modulations are more important.

Yea, I'm a bit surprised to find out that late (well it's really the first time I work that intensively with Xhip to be honest) that such a vital feature is missing.
Dunno if AD plans to add it someday, in the meantime I'm a bit... stuck with the sound I'm working on :/

That will be possible once event-parameter mapping is fully implemented.Boulotaur2024 wrote:... Basically I need to assign velocity both to Filter frequency as set in the screenshot and also to Mixer.Oscillator.B.
Isn't that the "Tempo" mode?Boulotaur2024 wrote:Also some syncing LFO's to beat would be nice (...)

Yep, you can call it "tempo" mode
or "sync" mode to external [host] tempo.
But modulation options are definitely of higher priority IMO.
Cheers!

DuX, forgive me if I got it wrong, but you can sync the LFO to the host's tempo by selecting Tempo in the LFO's Range parameter.
By the way, nice website.
