I know there are lots of windchime samples on the net, but does anyone know where there might be multisamples of windchimes? (or at least individual notes)

Thanks very much for your offer. I can sample a windchime myself here as well, I was just wondering if someone had some samples already made so I could get straight to the track I was working on instead of taking all that time to prepare samples. I have a small one with 6 or 8 chimes on it, I believe.pw wrote:email me and I will mutli-sample mine (each chime indivdually) in the next 2 weeks for you.vespers75 wrote:I know there are lots of windchime samples on the net, but does anyone know where there might be multisamples of windchimes? But not half as much wind (or should I say hot air)that comes out of the minds/mouths of some people here on KVRsonarman wrote:How do you multisample a windchime? You need at least two chimes to get a sound otherwise you end up with just wind.
Actually, I have used wind samples many, many times. And you did bring up a good point....perhaps I should make 2 sets of chime samples...one striking individual notes, and one where each tone is produced by 2 isolated chimes ringing against each other.

no worries. I think I will sample it anyway, just waiting for some new microphones to arrive from the states.vespers75 wrote:Thanks very much for your offer. of course not! It will be a free download, but, I am just waiting for my microphone upgrade before doing any more sampling here...then you can get ready for a whole heap of stuff

that's actually not a stupid idea at all, multisampling a windchime. You get to use a big patch of the white keys as the chime. think about it. it becomes much like the real chime itself is.
Just need good polyphony, lot's of mem or a diskstreaming sampler. and it doesn't hurt if you don't get much noise on the recordings because there will be a whole lot of it piling up when you roll the chime on keys.

cool. I have a very nice windchime, hand made in the Blue Mountains near Sydney. Lovely tone. I will capture the individual tones, as well as sampling a number of 'blown' variations. But, it will take me at least two weeks.
