To put it aother way, i want a basic subtractive/analog type synth that i can take with me to mates houses for having fun with, and ultimately to gig with if i ever get that far (ask me in about 18 months i suspect). It doesn't need to have 32 oscillators or 43 filter types like cutting edge VSTi, i jsut want something functional, fun, but useful in a user-friendly keyboard package.
I want all the available parameters available at one time - this is so i can totally program the thing on the spot without switchng between sets of controls or whatever. its a much more immediate way for me to get instant gratification out of the thing and it'll give me real tweakablility for performance. AT LEAST 3 octaves of full size keys.
On a budget of say, £250 or so (or less!!), and it can be second hand, what would you recommend? I have a friend who has a roland, i think its an SH-101 or something like that, but any further suggestions would be great.
Cheers
