hi
if everyone owns an x-station may help me.

can the x-station synth be used via usb? I mean the synth part, not the controller which I know of course.

I want to use the synth in FL Studio but don't know how to make it sound via usb if that's possible, which I think it is but may be wrong...

very grateful if someone can help me. thanks in advance.

You can use the synth over usb.
The driver registers the x-station as a soundcard.
If you play the synth it will use input 2 (and 1 if stereo is on) of the soundcard.
So in FL you just select a mixer track and put the "input from" menu (just above the inserts) to X-station 1 & 2.

The answer is yes ... i use mine in Live.
You just route the x-station to the input of an audio track.

Everyone forgot to mention also the x-stations are AWESOME ;)

How are the X-Station's sound compared to V-Station?

Post

It's the same engine. So it won't be all to different. I din't buy the V-Station because I had an x-station (even though you can get a V-station new for about 58 euro at thomann now)

Hi kyran :D
I have the V-station that i bought from Thormann for 55 euro last year, and was thinking of buying a X-Station or Xiosynth :)

But since the sound is the same i will use v-station instead :D

But I do not want to use x-station as soundcard. can not it be used as synth via usb if it's not selected as soundcard?

Post

And just how do you want to get the audio into your host if not through a soundcard.

If you want to load it as a vsti, then, no, it can't do that.

And if you want to keep using your current soundcard for everything else, just use asio4all.

Post

Of course I own a soundcard mate. Just that I don't want to use x-station as my soundcard, I use a Terratec phase 88 and that's why I'm asking if I can use x-station's synth via usb through my soundcard, not through x-station's soundcard.

Post

Well it either goes through usb or through your soundcard.
You can always just plug the x-stations outs old school style into your soundcard and use it as a hardware synth.
If you want to usb the x-stations usb cable for the sound, you'll have to register it as a soundcard in windows. Use asio4all to make an agregate sounddevice, and select your x-station in 1&2 as the soundsource for your x-station sounds. You can keep on using your existing soundcard just like it was.

Post

Indeed. either use ASIO4all or run the X station Line outs to the Teratec line ins, or use the SPDIF.
