I also had problems with that initially: the trick is that you have to also be touching the metal part on the back of the guitar neck at the same time!

The touchplate doesn't always stop the notes from ringing. You don't need to get an attitude.

True be that. It often doesn't matter if you're touching the neck at all, the notes just get stuck. Also, it seems like the velocity info on the metal bars is often really inaccurate. Could this just be my unit? Is there a way to limit the range of the strings to 100-127 or something?

In my app, in the ezPreset.js file, there's a function called defaultVelocity() that contains these settings.

Hi mbncp, can you tell me where/how i can download your lovely midi scrypting for ezguitar? :help:
mbncp wrote:Thanks, but I'm cheating a bunch here :oops:
First the whole ez is tuned in C Major, and I have extra plugs in each track that will convert to some different key/scale. In this case the scale triggers where already programmed in the sequencer, but I can also do it in realtime using the foot pedal.
Then I mute the open strings and in the case of the bass I was just kind of strumming to play the faster lines, and 2-3 strings at the same time, but if you are clean on the fretboard, only one is playing, thanks to the muted open strings.
And the new "filter doubles" setting helps also here.
Well my technique isn't perfect yet, but I can see some good fun potential here.
I love that MIDI stuff :D

Thanks, when will the shop be open? Or are you planning to open up the shop? :hyper:

I'm really enjoying using an EZ-AG as a drum synth controller, it's certainly working better than just putting a drum machine in.

I set the EZ Suite to one octave down, as most drum synths operate on the C below.

hello everyone
just got my ez-ag too :D sooo amazing :love:
im in canada (quebec) so if anyone seek for one here i got mine at costco.ca for 200$ (canadian)
i dont understand everything cause i only played for 2 hours but there is 2 things i cant figure out
it's possible that it has ben discussed before but im only to page 25 in the forum (85 pages it's long héhéhé)
so first, i like the fretboard mode on the ez-guitar environement bu the two higher strings are detuned... it is possible to have them tuned like a normal guitar? like the guitar mode do but without the strings...
and second... in some mode like fretboard all the string goes to the same part in my sequencer but in other modes, like guitar, each strings goes to a different part so i have to change my sound 6 times... maybe it's hard to understand but i speak french and im relatively new to midi music so maybe i dont express myself well... just ask for the part you can't figure out and i will try another way héhé

ho and where can i find the other script (ezg suite i think) i can only find ez-guitar environement

thanks guys and really good work with this guitar... impressive, you guys rules héhéhé

Darkblood,
Pour le script de Markleford, tu peux changer le "tuning" dans le fichier ezPreset.js. Il suffit de modifier les lignes après // Base note for the first fret per row, valeur MIDI de la note de base +1
Le standard serait:

Code: Select all

		// Base note for the first fret per row
		patch.row[0].baseNote = 65;
		patch.row[1].baseNote = 60;
		patch.row[2].baseNote = 56;
		patch.row[3].baseNote = 51;
		patch.row[4].baseNote = 46;
		patch.row[5].baseNote = 41;

Does this thing also do fast tremolo picking thing?

I don't think that's a good idea, nor would it sound good on any synth. I can do it, but I don't.

What he said...That kind of picking is better suited to a Roland type setup, but even that does'nt work as well as just a plain old guitar.

keep in mind that this is not a guitar, its not
even a guitar synth per se, but rather a guitar-like alternative midi controller. Its a whole nother animal with
its own set of strenghths and weaknesses...that being said
I love mine to pieces!! :D

I understand but is it possible or some notes will get lost or what exactly? I am planning to use it as a MIDI controller but basically more like a guitar (for triggering my own electric guitar samples and bass libraries from/to hardware AKAI sampler/sequencer) instead of using keyboard controller. Why not just use a real el. guitar? Because I CAN'T PLAY IT ANYMORE DUE TO MY LEFT HAND INJURY :( so I'm figuring pressing those buttons will probably be easier on my hand. Will it be??? So the only advantage to go for EZAG over keyboard for me would be because of tremolo picking which I use a lot for my style. So if not recommended, any other options to explore?

Thanks!

patch.row[0].channel = 1;
patch.row[1].channel = 2;
patch.row[2].channel = 3;
patch.row[3].channel = 4;
patch.row[4].channel = 5;
patch.row[5].channel = 6;

i will try :)

thanks again for your reply

There's a Yahoo ez guitar group now, they haven't okayed me yet so I haven't looked around inside.

You can find it by searching for yamaha guitar, the title is ezag ezeg as opposed to ez-ag and ez-eg.
