umm... i prolly wont get any presents this year for x-mas from satan for releasing this but as an old officionado of buzz, i feel the world should be able to have this...

btw some annonymous bloke passed this link to me where one can access a .rar file containing all the shady neccessaries to buggily be able to load buzzmachine .dlls in say ableton or audiomuclh or cubase.. it works okay if you have buzz installed but i still have problems with the stereo-converted effects:

updated link: https://app.box.com/s/61j4ackkkuelxmss1dadhdbg2hbrkayn

p.s. dont open two windows of this effect at the same time...
btw, anyone got any leads to a lesser buggy version?

okay who are you mr. jx and where have you been all my life? this crazy hack plugin actually works! its kind of a biotch to get setup though... now i just have to spend the next 24 hours of my life downloading all the rest of the good buzz plugs from buzzmachines... doh! at least it will keep me off the sauce ;)
viva geekdom!

Hmm, never dived into the buzz world.
I had a look at the site though, and by the looks of things, I'll never get anything done if I start messing aroung with this thing

Hallo jackxavier,
this does not work on my comp.
The first start it asks for the path. I choosed the "effects that work folder "

After the start of the plug I read:
Could not find any Buzz plugins

Where I can change the path again ? I doesn't find a ini file.

There goes today's evening ...

Reinhard, look in your C:\Windows directory for the BuzzVST.ini file.

this wrapper can load polac's loader ? (aka russian dolls, but that would mean presets morphing...)

Post

I'm getting that it can't find any buzz plugins. Where should I put the gear folder so that the wrapper will notice them?

Post

It was fun while it lasted, but it really is in fact too buggy and the legality of this adapter more than questionable anyway. Made me fire up buzz afterwards once again and I was reminded that I can live without all the buzz stuff (even as neat as some of those machines are).

Post

I deleted the buzz ini , after restart it found the Buzz folder.

After loading in energy or chainer xt I get the message
Get info () called

Now it see the Plugins but no sound.

I have been waiting for this for ages. Wasn't Soma involved with creating this, or a similar plugin, legally? Ie. WITH buzzlib?

here's the thread where he talks about it: http://www2.kvr-vst.com/forum/viewtopic ... b3de2a93a2

yeah so i guess you can't automate or map midi knobs to any of the parameters? let me know if any of you figure that one out...

but its still pretty sweet and i'm still wasting too much life on this thing - somebody needs to just byte the bullet and make a better version of this... maybe its time to get into C++ instead of partying on the weekends (yeah right)

Now I remember why I stopped using Buzz. Thanks!!! ;)

yup this thing is super ghetto and diseased with bugs like the beast that spawned from the "oskari-ego-boost-program"(buzz) years ago; you certainly can't automate with this thing unless you wanna restart your DAW a million times (i did get cubase sx 2 to map-midi to the parameters but it was like skateboarding on ice)...

anyway, my hopes is that by this 'ghetto-wrapper' being out and about, it will indeed spurn some "polac" esque code warrior out there to muster some balls to create and release a free bug-free wrapper with all the bells and whistles that should be in it... sometime in the near future?

there are too many witty, super low cpu, effects for buzz that aren't available in vst form

Post

futhermore, if the original spirit of buzz was that everyone be able to benifit for $0.00 from the fruits of it's communal effort, why can't there be a way for all digital musicians across the board to have the opportunity to appreciate and utilize the hard work of the many coders out there who put thousands of hours into creating those esoteric dsp's?
(okay im getting off the pulpit now and am having a guinness... praise the lord!)

Post

yeah i think free was the original concept - darn that capitalistic american disease! granted every programmer needs money for beer every now and then... i'm still surprised nobody had the balls to make and release a solid-working free public version of this thing sooner?

btw, i've put the link up at my website:
