Hey guys-
I am switching from pc to mac and so i can use my old sampler with mac (shortcirtcuit). What do you guys think of sampletank2 as a sampler? I want a sampler that can map out instruments well (take a bass note and map it up and down the keys nicely) and something to load my drum hits into. I want something that is simpl eand intuitive (and cheap). right now i can get sampletank2 for 150 onsale. a good sampler for what i want? thoughts?

I like it fine. I use it rompler-style, with the included libraries and ST-format add-on libs, so I can't tell you about importing and mapping and such. To my way of thinking and working it's intuitive enough for the most part. There are a few things I'd change but overall it does what I want.

If Squids drops by the thread he can tell you more than you ever wanted to know about SampleTank. He also makes and sells many of the best ST sample packs (as well as Refills and other sample formats).

Not very good as a sampler. Loading wav samples is a pain. You may want to check out Directwave. I think that's the name of it.
