Luckily at BBA, we're for the most part KvR frequenters as well. We have gotten some great feedback here. We've had some pretty special people stopping in at the Bughouse as well (though, it's still on lockdown right now), though less frequently.

If we relied ONLY on our forum, or ONLY on e-mail praise, it would seem very lonely indeed. :D KvR is a great source of criticism and praise.

Even I'm amazed at the scarcity of donations, though. One developer here once encouraged me to consider moving the model to a payware one, and I can't say that I completely disagree in terms of paying for bandwidth and "customer appreciation".

But it is what it is. The BBA team by and large does what we do because we enjoy it... which isn't to say that there won't ever be a commercial offering, but to date most of our projects have been simply an exercise in taking a cool idea and actualizing it. Which is rewarding in and of itself!

just a thought ,,,
it wouldnt be bad also, eventually offering services to translate manuals or similar stuff in other languages, as some devs already managed to get...
actually, i think ill start offering that soon hopefully..so at least my boss will be paying me crap wages to do something useful instead of usual craps ;P

Aye, lot of respec an ting to our nerdy cousins. I've had encouragement, collaborations, larfs, downright acts of stupid generosity from some the developers that frequent ye olde k-v-r (you know who you are c**ts). Some of them are almost like real people. But better at maths.

Enough sentimental twaddle, there be ale.

p.s Hammerhead rokked! Bottle of white cider, couple of spliffs, hammerhead.....

Hello, guys

Sometimes, I speak with many developpers of free plugins and the conclusion is ever the same…
Do you know what is the time, the work, the effort, the stress to create a plug ? Yes, If you create plugs.
Some developpers make the choice to offer free their plugs. Nice. No money.
But, often, no mails. Silence. People download and download and use and use. It's all. Egoism.
More respect and consideration if you must buy the plug ? Sad.
Sometimes, a mail : « Thank's ». Only a thanks is a great evidence of a good-breeding and make happy the developper.
Much developpers think like me.
And If you don't like the plugin, say by mail : « I don't like this plugin, beacause… ». No silence.

So, I propose to you : every time you download and use a plugin, send a mail to the developper and say « Thank's » or "Try preferably to create a garden  ".
And the developper will be happy for all the day along and he will not pound his child and he will offer flowers to his wife and he drive perfectly on the road. :D
...or he will become a friar.

Don't lynch me, I know I'm right. :P

WAAAH?

I sometimes make a good tune, or send my arty stuff to people - I NEVER expect to get any kind of gratitude, even less a mail saying so.

if you're so hardpressed for love, get a dog or something.

Thank you Dave Brown for the wonderful dB Tempo Delay

Thank you Harvey (?) for the fantastic Blackwater Reverb

Thank you Aleksey for the unbeatable Voxengo Boogex

Along with Cubase's Dynamics plugin and internal EQ they're probably all I'll ever need to make my simple rock'n'roll music.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all you plugin developers - even though a lot of what you're coming up with goes way above my head ...
