Hi Captain ;-),

I was trying to download but I suspect the download link rather points to the PolyAna product site, that is, to itself. :?:

Hi LiteOn,

We get a very small proportion of people having trouble with the download link (if you have sending the referrer disabled in your browser, then I would expect it to break.)

What browser are you using? Any funky settings?

I'll PM you with an alternate link to download it from.

Cheers.

Hi AQ,

now I see - I generally keep referrers disabled; you know, we shouldn't support the mighty DubYas and their alikes easily ;-)
With it enabled, the download works with my Opera baby now as well!

But I PMed you again...

Thanks & cheers,
LiteOn

Hi AC,

for whatever reason, after the 3rd restart of Cubase it came finally up. :)

Yep, for sure, it sounds very analogish. But my god, this lady eats up processors cycles.

I had a very quick comparison with MiniMonsta. The lady does keep up well, good job done!
However, I have the sort of a feel that the envelopes could be a just a tiny little bit faster to yield a bit more punch. But could be I may need some more time to explore in more detail.

Two more questions for now:
1) How are the OSC's switchd on/off?
2) is there something like a filter drive?

The GUI is sort of, yeah, special :hihi:

Anyway, gonna buy it now...

cheers,

Hi,

appender:

I could spent some time on it at the weekend. Though I was at most scratching it's surface (needed some time to get the routing, I better had RTFM ;-) ), I could come up with a good bass. :-)

Indeed, there're chances this lady could become my new sweetheart!

Some words on performance, I have an AMD 64 3200 (uptuned by 10% I guess). The bass patch urged me to set up one of my standard track layouts in Cubase (GURU, MiniMonsta, Tera) and started another song (of my glory ouvre of unfinished 8-bar stuff....;-)). For sure, none of the VSTi's involved were running with mega-patches, but a good deal of native effects were involved, too (by luck, I have UADs). With this setup, I think, I can work with Poly-Ana even during (MIDI-) arranging for the very most of the times! From my guts, I perceive it in MiniMonsta's league performancewise - which is good! And some more improvements in that area are possible (I have some in mind as well ;-) ).

Well, I have spent various bucks on synth so far, ranging from 10 - 300EUR.
Straight: IMO, at the current price (and the announced regular one) I think this is a real steal!!!! I mean, right know the price is below what I've paid for OhmBoyz....

cheers,
LiteOn

I just did a little test with 4 instances of Poly-Ana in SX 3 and it's working fine. Could you try reloading your project (actually, restart the host entirely) and seeing if it gets better? If that doesn't help, could you try just creating a new project with 3 or more Poly-Anas and 3 or more MIDI tracks and get them all playing at once.

Thanks!!!
Thanks Admiral and Boulotaur,

I have to hit the hay early today, since i have to get up rediculously early. I will see if i can get something done tomorrow though, and will post results as soon as i have them.

In the meanwhile, here are some of the sounds i made with polyana. You are free to add them to your product if you like, admiral (if you like any of them, that is ;))

Yep, a really nice, nice tune - a bit AIRish ;-)
But great, that I can witness with my ears what this machine is able to deliver! And thank you for sharing your patches.

PS2: Might be of interest to some, I have known AQ to provide a very good and responsive support! Thanks again.

Last chance to take advantage of the $69.95 offer is this weekend folks. The price is going up to $129.95 on Monday.

And thanks again to everyone who had the faith to buy this product while in Beta. We're now feature-complete, the "Coming Soon" list is empty, and I'm proud to say she's everything I hoped she would be and more!

Cheers.

though I've jumped on the train quite late, that's a real convincing beta running over here.
Well, I'm no bootlicker, but that thing sounds great...and after all those 1st impressions on the virtual JP8 I have read here......but that's a different story.

But you don't mind a new extended feature list, don't you? :D

No I do not. :) Yes, you're right, you can and should expect the feature set to continue to grow throughout the 1.x product lifetime. I'm just done making promises. ;)

But seriously, the highest priority in the short term is to start porting to other platforms before futher expanding the feature set. But don't worry, I have a list of extras I'd like to add ASAP and may actually be able to get to that before I'm able to aquire new systems to port TO. (So many computers to buy in the next year... the industry is in serious schism right now.)

I hope lots of presets are to come as well. Why not advertise for some of the guys who have done presets for other synths? Swap services-PA for presets, that way everyone wins.

Don't worry Improv, there'll be many more presets to come as well. Free. For eternity (or at least the next couple of years.)

And I'm sorry to report that the barter system doesn't seem to work that well in this biz. And as all I have to trade are $129.95 Poly-Ana licences, that doesn't buy many hours of work even at a cheap rate. Sound design takes a LONG time to do well.

Anyway, nothing stopping people from sending me presets so feel free. I'll put the good ones on the site eventually. I just get a lot that are junk or, if interesting, need extra work in (typically) mod wheel routing, velocity and/or keyboard response and scaling, and volume normalization. But if you send me a bank of good ones, yeah, I'll probably have a reward for you. But evaluating their quality and value is a purely subjective decision, and its understandable that not many would be willing to do all the work up front on the gamble that I'll like it and reward them. It's a LOT of work. You'd be better off working at your job and buying Poly-Ana with actual money. So, not surprisingly, sound designers aren't busting down my door to do this. (And others who've expressed interest in Poly-Ana sound design are in it because they sell the sounds themselves. So they won't want to send them to me because I'll just turn around and give them away. And once you start trading sounds with people who commoditize them, then it gets VERY hard to say who's sound is who's... or who's sound some other sound descended from. Trust me, it's easier and makes for a better product to just do it all yourself. (This is a central founding principle of this company! :) ))

But by all means, send me sounds! I'll liberate them for you.

Post

Um..I think you got it backwards. I'm not asking if I can submit patches, I was asking as a user if there are plans to include more. I don't have the time (or the health) to make presets. Other synths manage quite well to get several banks of patches made, I was hoping you would as well.

Sorry for asking-whatever. :(

Post

Improv, I said "yes". :)

Just bought my license :hyper: fun fun fun

Yes to what? You tell me all the reasons why you you DON'T want to get preset makers to do sets for you and that's a yes? :?

Have a nice day...
