voices has been discontinued. Does anyone know if eastwest is coming out with a second version? I have symphonic choirs, but they sound completely different. I find it hard to believe they wont come out with a replacement.

EWQLSC is most definitely the "sequel" to VoTA. They will not produce another choir library in the same vein as VoTA, as EWQLSC is already that.
But if you like VoTA so much, why not just keep using the version you had? Did you lose the CDs? Alternatively, just buy a new copy... I'm SURE they're still around.

sorry to be unclear, I have symphonic choirs, but not voice of the apacolypse. I am thinking of buying it, but dont have giga which is the format it's in. I may use chicken systems translator to convert Voices to kontakt 2, but I wondered what features in giga are used to make VOTA sound realistic and if there were features in Kontakt that could replace them. But I think that the word builder utility is only available on PC. Am I wrong? Would I be settling for ooohs and aaaahs on my mac? I do have a laptop PC, but don't know that it could handle loading complex instruments into giga, I might get giga and try it anyway. Then I also read somewhere that VOTA can't be used for movie trailers. What else can't it be used for? What the hell is the point if that is the case? I'm trying to make this more than an expensive hobby.
Thanks for any thoughts

Kontakt 2 does import giga. As for license restrictions, have you looked at the East West home page?

It CAN be used in movie trailers if it's been used in the actual score of the movie...erichzann wrote:Then I also read somewhere that VOTA can't be used for movie trailers. Are you (or are you intending to) specifically score just film trailers with it? If you want to score whole films, not just trailers, I wouldn't sweat it.
Also, I think that the "word builder" utility only works via GigaSampler/Studio.
