I would like to fade seamlessly from one state to another. Just wanted to get some advice/opinions for the best way crossfading from a short transient sample to a long looped section or buffer frozen section.. Heres a spectral cap:

This was taken from an MP3 (sorry for the dirty transient)..

My issue is when I cross the parts over one another theres a slight increase in volume for that instance or a strange phase sound (as the audio is pretty much the same).. I've tried layering in a sampler but get that phase sound..

BTW is there some kind of spectral fading util/plug I should look at?

What do you suggest is the best way around this problem?

Please :help:

hmm..

Try offsetting them a bit so that they don't phase.

Thanks shamann.. Will try..

Try exponential instead of a linear fade.

@Bernard so use spline curves instead of straight lines?

If you're using Audition there should be a choice for Exponential and Linear in the Fade dialog. But yeah, Spline curves, if applied correctly, should do.

Maybe it's Equal Power, not Exponential. I always get them confused.

Anyway, it should look like this...

Followed your diag and it seems that splines work!! THANKS

Seems like overkill for a crossfade.
