a poll for step sequencing for tau2

I personnally would like a small Step-sequencer in Tau2, kinda like Reason's Matrix sequencer

not only for notes, but also for Filter cutoff and rezz and others

Please?...you could turn it off and on as you wish(clikc butoon a step-sequecer appreas..click on it again it disapears..like those keyboards that you can take off ala pro-53 etc)

also keep in mind that midi automation is still limited...with a custom Step-Seq in Tau2 ,it could have MUCH better Filter tweaks bloops and bleep and sweeps

In your opinion, what is it that makes MIDI "still limited" as you put it? Where's the drawback to MIDI programming if all the parameters are accessible via MIDI to begin with?

By the way, the way your poll is currently worded, it is comparing apples to oranges. The two things are not related. "clicking and having improvised riffs/filter tweaks" can still be accomplished using midi and my host's sequencer.

Your poll should have been worded more like this...

Yes I like clicking and having improvised riffs/filter tweaks with a sequencer that is built into a synth.

or

No,I prefer clicking and having improvised riffs/filter tweaks using midi and my Host's sequencer.

Either way, I'd still choose the second option.

I think you're missing realmarco's point-this would be IN ADDITION to your regular automation-a kind of on-demand override.

I do understand what he is asking. That is why I said what I did about the wording of his poll. The wording of the poll suggests that you can't have clicking and improvised riffs/filter tweaks if you don't have a built-in sequencer. I do like to click & improvise riffs & filter tweaks just as much as the next guy, but I certainly don't need a built-in sequencer to do that.

From a sheer 'ooooh ahhhh, this is fun!' standpoint, I can't really argue against the fun factor. I don't dispute that it would look cool & be fun to use - if not only for nostalgic reasons. From a usefulness standpoint, it really depends on what your sequencer is or isn't capable of. I doubt that any of the hosts offered here at K-v-R are too ill-equiped to handle any of the tweaking he wants to do to begin with.

So, again, I submit that the poll might be worded differently.

Sorry folks, but we need to be clear on this - Tau 2 will not have a step sequencer. The product is almost finished, we're not going to take it to bits now and start again

There IS however a possibility of a seperate sequencer as an MFX plugin or similar at some point in the future.
