419 eater glory (not sure whether all that's written is true, but it's quite stupid):

Sucks that youtube removed the old video from way back when Mike Browning was doing vocals & drums.

Can someone please explain to me what Thomas Dolby is doing with that TR606?

That's easy, he's faking it.

The whole performance was sync'd to a pre-recorded studio track they made for that event. You can tell by four things:

1) The TR606 doesn't have MIDI, so it can't trigger anything external to itself
2) It doesn't have live triggering of sound even internally, it's 100% sequencer driven
3) It isn't wireless. Notice there's no cord attached to it.
4) It's documented on Thomas Dolby's blog: http://blog.thomasdolby.com/?p=381

Making of "Dark Side Of The Moon". One of my favourite albums ever. These days, I'd probably like to know more about techniques, but it's still a great watch, if you have 48 minutes of time.

Ffs, also listen to the improvised vocals on "The Great Gig In The Sky" - should give many a scatter and "soul divas" a run for their money, really. It's still making my body hairs stand up all over the place.
But then, maybe I'm just getting old.

Great find, Sascha! Fascinating to watch.

I just wish that that pretentious guy from Rolling Stone would stop referring to them as "The Floyd." :hihi:

Sorry, mate, maybe I'm just too young (:hihi:), but I don't dig it - find it quite annoying, to be honest
