while this one isn't exactly alt. notation and many of you have seen it, it has a place on this thread being such a sharp stab at the problems of standard notation - very clearly demonstrated as well:

Yeah, he did another one too (the Motoring Accident bit). But it's obviously not meant to be playable. "Remove Cattle from Stage"? What? How do you play "like a dirigible"?

I THOUGHT that the example was supposed to be

... but I don't see how it can be because it's obviously got NOTHING to do with standard notation. Most of it isn't even written properly.

Thats bizarre; I just added that (and one called 'Music and Mathematics: From Pythagoras to Fractals') to my ever-expanding-list-o-stuff at Amazon.

great minds think alike i guess, ive only had a brief look at the picture music chapter but it seems a worthwhile item especially for your research purposes.
what i did glean from my initial looksie could be qite useful for a certain "wanm" project, ill pm you with more ideas about that soon

let me know how that other book goes, saw it but looked a bit heavy for what im after at the moment.
