Congratulations on the announcements Squids.

Of course, there is still a need to produce said products for sale, but still - gigantic announcement.

Actually - thinking about it, aren't the titles incorrect?

Shouldn't it be Moogik, Tronik and Studiophonik?

I don't own any dedicated VSTi Moog emulations, so to have the line-up under one roof is right up my alley. I'd be really interested in playing around with the Theremin. I've used fxpansion's "Mysteron" as well as synthesised approximations, but would be interested in hearing how SR went about modelling such a dynamic instrument.

Hey Squids all three of these new items look really interesting. In a way... I think even more interesting than getting virtual synth emulations. I wasn't sure about Studiophonik, but after reading the blurb about it, that looks cool too.

So, congrats on these new items. Looks pretty exciting!!!

Also, I hope that there might be a bundle of all three of these as perhaps a lightly cheaper option for those who might want to go for all three.

Finally... the Sampletank 2.5 update looks most cool too and thank you for making it free for X and XL users. That's pretty awesome and means more money to be focused on the above-mentioned items!!! :)

Best of luck to you guys for a successful Messe!
Available on iTunes, Amazon, etc.

Anything that improves the ST engine gets a thumbs up from me.

As for the new soundset/engines I'm not sure at this stage. Might be nice to have a large collection of classic Moog sounds, not for mangling but for quick dial-up of that classic sound. Especially coming from a sound company I trust.

I'll have to see if/when I'm in the market I guess.

Regardless of my current needs though - they look like great products, and it's always good to see a big announcement from the Sonic Reality team. May there be many more - *lifts glass*

Glad you guys like the announcements. I think all SampleTank 2 L and XL users should be happy with the free 2.5 update. It has a CSR verb in it and has even better fx routing than Miroslav does... plus it reads all of the IK/SR modules now. So, now you can see what I meant when we have "something new" to replace Expansion Tanks... well, it's a different thing but it is similar in that it can be a module on its own but it can also be a library to expand your SampleTank set up... and of course this is just the beginning. Depending on how these three go there could be more! ;) We're very excited about them. They're really cool!

The SampleMoog... this is an idea I've had for a while and actually we even had the support of Bob Moog on this. But, now that he's gone we're doing something extra to honor him by donating proceeds from special editions that will be released with extra bonus stuff to go to the Moog Foundation www.moogfoundation.com I am not sure what the special limited edition boxes will have but some fun stuff from famous Moog artists, extra patches and signatures... it's a good thing to do. Michelle, Bob's daughter, is really thrilled about the whole thing. It's a different approach.

The cool thing about the SampleMoog is that it REALLY sounds like a Moog... because it is a reanimated recording of the real thing. It doesn't have the same synth architecture although a few things like filters were tweaked and programmed to sound more Moog-like. But, it's VERY authentic at reproducing signature Moog sounds from all of the range... I mean, we all know there's a variety of Minimoog emulations out there but this one has samples of a variety of DIFFERENT Minimoogs such as a Model D, a MuSonic, an RA Moog and also a Minimoog Voyager... all sound a little different from each other actually! So, it's nice to have access to such a rare collection... something I like to provide when it comes to vintage keyboards. But, then you have things that have never (and probably will never) be modeled like the Memorymoog, Polymoog, Multimoog, Taurus Pedals... also fun to have it all in one product. "Everything Moog" in one shot.

In a lot of cases you even still have the raw oscillators to do your own virtual Moog synth with it from scratch as well... plus 901's and 921's... we didn't mess around! We even have samples of Keith Emerson's Moog Modular. What's cool about this product is that it is very useful for both Prog Rock and Hip Hop, R&B, Pop and Electronic Music... the presets are fat and ready to go because they have also the full SampleTank engine's effects inside. You have everything from liquid Pink Floyd leads to Genesis bass pedals to Stevie Wonder-like leads to Earth Wind & Fire funky basses to low boom tones... for BASS this product is unbelievably huge! Leads, basses and also silky retro pads... electronic effects too. It's very comprehensive. I think it's safe to say that if you like Moog synths then this one is going to be a nice one to have in your set up.

The Theremin is cool. But... it's just a sine wave more or less with portamento. If you want all that a Theremin can do I suggest GETTING a Moog Theremin... part of the fun is waving your hands in the air anyway. ;) I have the Etherwave Pro and I love it. You know you can control CV/Midi with it? I want to use that live on a gig at some point.

You're exactly right, Squids... there are some nice emulations out there... I have the Minimonsta and love it! But it's also nice to have the samples as the basis for "that sound" as you say.

And yeah... I was looking over that list of Moogs that were sampled and noticed the various items most of which I haven't seen in person in ages. And the different versions of the Mini. Even the Rogue... and even the Realistic! Yep, you guys sure don't mess around, lol.

...which is a very good thing in my book!!!

You know... it occurs to me that if you could do the same for the Oberheims at some point and also one instrument that might feature all the different little known synths one hears about here and there... I think there might be a decent market for these items.

You mean the OberTank? Haha. Hmmm. Not sure if we'll do that. But, we ARE going to be releasing a sound set from every synth you can think of as part of an initiative on www.esoundz.com for downloadable sound packs in the works. Imagine being able to download the "essence" of any Arp, Oberheim, Prophet and other synths? Just recently we had all of the "Tony Banks" presets from the Synclavier II sampled as well as new Arp Quadra, Prophet 10 and other cool sounds... bottom line is, if the authentic sounding samples of synths combined with top quality subtractive synthesis (and granular by the way via Stretch and PS/TS in SampleTank) is your thing then you have a LOT (and I mean A LOT!) to look forward to this year from Sonic Reality.

Wow,,, this is really great news Squids, and this is the kind of stuff that really floats my boat. Looking forward to it.

Squids does it again!

This is a really good thing for me as the "essence" of a classic at a more moderate price is quite often more attractive to me than "everything including the kitchen sink" at a considerably higher price.

And I know that Sonic Reality will choose carefully and wisely what the "essence" of these synths are.
