why does my sblive crash my comp

dif you are making music on a sblive dont use their drivers, us the kxproject drivers they are far far more superior. http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/

Or better yet, dump the $30 16bit/48k only gamer soundcard and get one that's better made for music.

I used to have a live and it never crashed. Maybe install drivers from the site instead of off the disk?

no honestly to the kxproject drivers, they are 100% more stable for music than creatives crappy drivers, i used to use a sblive platinum many moons ago and got latency down to 10ms with these drivers. The reason they work so well is that the sblive (depending on the model) will have an emu chip emis102k or something like that, this was a good chip but creative bastadised it into a gamers card. The kx drivers strip out all the crap and just gives you seperate ins and outs like a pro card. give them a go.
