On your 'Home' page, just below your pic, there's a little box with 2 url's in it. One for your page that people view and one for your blog.
It should be short n sweet, something like this:

I think you have to delete your account first, and then wait a few days, and then start again - make sure that you register as an artist!!!!

What is going on with Myspace??? It's getting so messed up now. Many accounts are getting broken into by spammers and hijackers. It seems they are so behind the times (they just recently got a verification system for brute force attacks). I posted a message to them (and here) about a potential vulnerability and they messaged me back thanking me and were quite surprised that this was going on..
A lot of people are leaving it for other sites like Facebook etc.. If things continue this way Myspace will go the way of the glaciers and soon be a vauge memory.. Maybe it was meant to happen. Will you be staying over there? If not what site will you be moving to?
