Yes to what? You tell me all the reasons why you you DON'T want to get preset makers to do sets for you and that's a yes? :?

Have a nice day...
Yes to "hope lots of presets are to come as well." They WILL.

Improv, there simply aren't preset makers out there offering to do quality work for free or barter. It's a LOT of work (especially for a synth of this complexity with so many programming possibilities) and I simply cannot afford to pay anyone ELSE to do that right now. It's taken a huge personal sacrifice to bring this product to you and the rest of the world; I don't yet make a living off it. In fact, I have put myself in a very deep hole to get to this point. So I'm sorry but I just can't afford to hire anyone to do that or anything else right now.

There WILL be more presets. They WILL continue to be published on the website. And they WILL be FREE. AND... there's about 50 new ones coming in 2 days for the 1.0 release. So I'm sorry, but I don't understand what your issue is. You ask for more presets, I say more presets are coming. You suggest I work deals to get them faster, I tell you no such deals are likely and explain exactly why. It's not that I wouldn't WANT that Improv, it's just not a realistic expectation for me to have and even if someone did "volunteer", the extra management, editing, and turn around time of getting someone else to do it would take longer than doing it myself anyway.

One last time: More presets ARE coming, ASAP, and will continue to come.

Hey AdmiralQuality,
just tested your synthesizer, and it sounds FAT FAT FAT!!!
So I bought it.
If, in the future, you find a way to reduce CPU load without compromising the sound, I'd be more than happy. For now, I am going to play with my new toy. It's absolutely fabulous! Oh those basses! They are so thick and yummy and "feelable", I can almost bite into it. Well you know what I mean.
Thanks so much!

Viktor

Probably someone's mentioned it already. There are sometimes clicking noises at the beginning and/or end of a sound, like the "303 Bass" and others.

Thank YOU Viktor! Glad you like her.

And yes, I expect CPU usage will continue to improve in future updates. I consider the sound to be "nailed down" at this point, so while I do expect further optimizations and new features to be added during the product lifetime, nothing will "break" the existing sound.

Ah, the gate. I made it click intentionally because classic analog synths clicked too! (At least mine did. :)) I do understand that there's another school of thought that says clicks are bad. I suppose there could be an option to give you a choice. Unfortunately I can't promise that feature for Monday's launch, but will consider adding it in the next release after that.

Anyway, short term fix, you could use an unused envelope in that patch to make a slightly ramped gate. Here... http://www.admiralquality.com/products/ ... 0Click.zip

Cheers!

Hi AdmiralQuality,
actually, I kind of already thought that it might be a "realistic" feature, and to be honest, it's kind of cool to have it in terms of realism. I don't need to have it fixed that quickly, that's fine. Maybe for some future update you can make it an option that can be unchecked with a mouse-click. If it's a simple thing I mean.
For now, it just adds to the realism, or hardwarelikeness, and i don't mind at all.

Again I don't know if anyone's asked for that already as I didn't read through the last 14 pages, but I'd sure appreciate a nice patch browser where you can add folders for certain categories. I really like the one in Zebra2. Anyway, there's no hurry for that.
Keep up the good work! And thanks for the quick help with the patch.

Viktor

Wow, I'm already a happy customer. It's nice.

Just coughed up for this excellent synth - are there any 3rd party preset banks available yet? The presets I do have are great but I'd like some more fat lead/bass sounds and I'm not much of a tweaker...

One feature request - would it be possible to lock parameters to a given setting globally? I'm kinda bored of changing pitchbend down from 12 to 2 semitones for each preset..

Cheers...

Thank you griels! Sounds will keep coming. 50 more on Monday.

Interesting idea about a global parameter feature, will think about how I might go about implementing one.

But here's a trick you can do right now... save the default Poly-Ana bank to a .pab file. Poly's program and bank files are just text files (in fact, they're C++ code that I can easily ingest into the project to add new sound data.) You should be able to do a global replace on the value for the PitchbendRange.

Here, did it for you. The default bank with all pitchbend ranges set to +/-2 semitones: http://www.admiralquality.com/products/ ... 0semis.zip

All I was saying is that other one man operations do manage to get others to write banks of presets for them. How, why, when, where-I don't know. I was merely commenting that they do manage to do this. That's it, period.
M'k? 8)

Free is not a major concern. $20 give or take for extra sets is fine for me. Main thing is that they are available.

Now why couldn't you have said this in the first place? It looks like you were more interested in explaining why you couldn't do more presets while giving a vague 'I say more presets are coming.' That could mean 2 days, 2 years... see? If you had mentioned the 50 new presets in 2 days and just left it at that, this whole exchange would not have taken place.

Instead you insisted on giving every reason under the sun why you couldn't get people to make presets for you. Barter was no good, paying for them was no good, etc. I was merely pointing out that other small devs DO get banks and banks of presets done for them. Period. No hidden meaning, no snide hidden subtext. That's it.

I can't make it much clearer than that. Everything is cool, it always was.

Over and out. Good luck with the ONE release.

Cheers

Cheers Sir Quality - should be enough to keep me going until Monday :D

I've been playing with my new toy (Poly-Ana) for the last few hours today and man...this thing just keeps on giving and giving. Absolutely wonderful D'N'B style basses and spicey leads can be made with it. And those mod options...kinda makes me think of what the ARP 2600 would have been like if it used knobs instead of patch cords.
Guys...I recommend y'all check out the FX Freeze plug-in as this IS CPU intensive. With that thing handy, I can lay on the Poly-Ana sauce as thick as I want without comprimising the sound, plus it works for other CPU intensive synths as well (Massive, Symptohm, etc).

Hi Xenos,

yes, a nice peace.

May i aks: how about sharing your presets?

cheers,

I'm really pleased with my purchase of this thing as well. Looking forward to all the improvements as I went in early with faith. Very happy though with the product as it stands right now.
